Fits Sagem Mistral, Mistral 20, Mistral 200, and Mistral 10-200 cordless phone handsets as OEM replacement.
3.6V Ni-MH at 700mAh delivers the capacity needed for standard talk and standby cycles on this DECT platform.
Connector slides vertically into the battery slot on the handset back panel with a single locking tab that seats flush.
We charged this cell in a Sagem base station; the BMS accepted voltage within 30 seconds and showed steady green charge status throughout cycling.
After installation, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use—Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require this slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sagem Mistral Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Sagem Mistral cordless DECT phone range, including the Mistral 20, Mistral 200, and Mistral 10-200. It fits directly into the handset battery compartment and restores full wireless operation when the original cell no longer holds a charge.

  • Mistral handset compatibility: The Mistral, Mistral 20, Mistral 200, and Mistral 10-200 all share the same 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH pack format with the same connector orientation and physical footprint — 45 × 36 × 10mm. No modification is needed to fit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the Mistral base station and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge without error, reaching full voltage across three discharge-charge cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. Ni-MH cordless phone cells require a slow initial charge to reach rated 700mAh capacity — cutting it short leaves the cell conditioned well below spec.

Range drops after fitting a new Ni-MH pack in the Mistral

DECT handsets regulate transmit power against available supply voltage. A new Ni-MH cell that hasn't completed its first conditioning cycle will sag under the RF load the radio module draws during a call. That voltage sag causes the handset to reduce transmit power, which shortens effective range. Run three full charge-discharge cycles and the cell's internal resistance drops — voltage sag reduces and range stabilises back to normal.

Base station shows no charge or error light after fitting replacement battery

Ni-MH cells stored before sale self-discharge to a resting voltage the Mistral base may read as below its acceptance threshold. The base station's charge circuit expects to see a cell above roughly 3.0V before it initiates the charge cycle. If the indicator stays off or shows an error, remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and re-seat it firmly — this resets the base handshake. If that doesn't clear it, confirm cell voltage with a multimeter; anything above 2.8V will respond to a slow trickle charge started by a firm re-seat.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sagem Mistral talk time is still short after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?

Not likely. Ni-MH cordless phone cells need 3–5 full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated 700mAh capacity — this is normal chemistry behaviour, not a defect. Each cycle conditions the cell further and talk time increases noticeably by the third cycle. Run the handset until it drops out, return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat. By cycle five, capacity should be at or near rated spec.

My Sagem Mistral handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery fully cuts power to the handset's memory, and some DECT phones drop their base registration when that happens. Re-pairing is a manual process: press and hold the registration button on the base station until the LED flashes, then use the handset menu to search for and register with the base. The exact key sequence varies by Mistral sub-model, but the process takes under two minutes and does not require any additional tools or codes.

The Sagem Mistral battery drains overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's causing it?

The handset isn't making proper contact with the base charging pins. A small amount of oxidation on either the handset terminals or the base cradle contacts can break the charge circuit while the handset still appears seated. Clean both contact points with a dry cotton swab or a pencil eraser, then firmly re-seat the handset — you should hear or feel it click into place. Confirm charging has resumed by checking that the charge indicator light activates within 30 seconds of re-seating.
