This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for Ohm cordless phone handsets. It fits the TEL-B36, TEL-B86, TEL-B0016H, and TEL-B0066H models, plus two additional handsets in this range. The cell dimensions are 43.00 × 31.00 × 8.00mm, matching the original battery footprint in these handsets.

Base station charging error on a freshly installed NiMH pack

Ohm base stations use delta-V detection to identify a connected NiMH battery. If the pack voltage is too low after extended storage, the base may not register a valid cell and will display a charge error or show no charging indicator at all. This happens because the detection circuit expects a minimum resting voltage before initiating the charge cycle. Place the handset in the base and leave it undisturbed — most base stations will retry detection every few minutes and begin charging once the cell voltage climbs above the acceptance threshold, typically around 1.0V per cell.

Range drops mid-call after fitting a new battery

DECT handsets draw a burst of current each time the RF transmitter fires. A NiMH pack that has not been fully conditioned shows higher internal resistance, which causes the terminal voltage to sag under that transmit load. When voltage sags enough, the handset reduces transmit power or drops the call altogether. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles through normal use and the internal resistance will fall — range should stabilise to normal after that conditioning period.
