Fits Elcom EMN3000 and Elite KP3637 cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM battery CS-P302CL.
3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated capacity across the handset's RF and standby circuits.
Barrel connector mates straight into the handset battery bay with positive contact on the spring terminal.
We bench-tested this cell in an EMN3000 base charger; BMS accepted voltage immediately without fault light.
After installation, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cells require slow conditioning to reach rated capacity on initial cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Elcom EMN3000 / Elite KP3637 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH battery pack for the Elcom EMN3000 and Elite KP3637 cordless phone handsets. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores power to phones where the original pack no longer holds a charge. Voltage and cell count match the original pack exactly.

  • EMN3000 and KP3637 compatibility: Both handsets run on a single 3-cell Ni-MH pack at 3.6V with the same physical footprint (40 × 42 × 13.50mm) and connector orientation. The base station charges at a fixed low-current rate suited to the 600mAh cell capacity — swapping to a different voltage or chemistry will confuse the charge circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on Ni-MH test equipment, confirming the cell balance holds across the full charge window and that capacity reaches rated 600mAh after three conditioning cycles.
  • First charge on Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial-discharge storage need a slow overnight charge to reach rated capacity — a short first charge leaves the cells unevenly conditioned and talk time will appear low for several cycles.

Why the EMN3000 base station shows no charge light on a new battery

Ni-MH packs lose voltage in storage. If the cell voltage drops below roughly 0.9V per cell, the base station's charge circuit may not detect a valid battery and won't start the charge cycle. This shows as a blank or error indicator on the base. To recover, briefly connect the pack to a standalone Ni-MH charger at a low rate (around 60mA) to bring each cell above 1.0V, then return the handset to the base — the charge indicator should activate within a few minutes.

Handset loses DECT pairing after battery replacement

Removing the battery from a DECT handset clears the volatile memory that stores the base station pairing. The handset powers on but shows no signal or fails to connect to the base. This is not a battery fault — it is a standard behaviour when power is fully removed. Re-register the handset using the pairing button on the base station, following the steps in the EMN3000 manual (typically: hold the base registration button for 5 seconds, then confirm on the handset).

Frequently Asked Questions

My EMN3000 talk time is much shorter than the original battery even after a full charge — is the new battery faulty?

Not at first. Ni-MH cells ship partially discharged and need three to five full charge-and-use cycles before they reach rated 600mAh capacity. Each cycle conditions the cells more evenly. Run the handset until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat — talk time increases noticeably by the third cycle.

The handset is almost dead by morning even though I put it back in the base every night — why is it draining overnight?

Overnight drain points to the handset not making full contact with the base charging pins, not a battery defect. Check that the handset clicks firmly into the base cradle and that the charge indicator light activates. Clean the metal contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth — oxidation on Ni-MH contact pads is a common cause of intermittent charging on the EMN3000.

My EMN3000 range dropped noticeably right after I swapped the battery — what causes that?

DECT transmit power draws a surge current from the battery. A Ni-MH pack that hasn't completed its first conditioning cycles has higher internal resistance, which causes voltage to sag under that RF load — the radio backs off transmit power to compensate and range shrinks. Complete three full charge-discharge cycles as described above. If the pack is fully conditioned and range is still short, check that the replacement pack voltage reads at least 3.6V on a multimeter when the handset is in standby.
