Fits NorthWestern Bell 3210, 32505, 325091, 38200 cordless phone handsets as a direct OEM replacement.
3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH cell delivers rated capacity for full talk and standby cycles on DECT base stations.
Connector slides onto the handset charging contacts with no locking tab — seat it flat against the contact plate.
We charged this pack on a standard DECT base station; BMS accepted voltage immediately and cycled without fault codes.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NorthWestern Bell 3210 / 32505 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH 600mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the NorthWestern Bell cordless handset lineup. It fits the 3210, 32505, 325091, and 38200 models, among others. Same voltage, same cell count, same footprint as the factory pack.

  • Why these models share one battery: The 3210, 32505, 325091, and 38200 handsets all run the same 3-cell NiMH voltage rail at 3.6V and use the same connector pinout and physical bay dimensions — 40 × 42 × 13.5mm. One pack works across the lineup because the base station charging circuit targets the same charge termination voltage regardless of which model is docked.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible test rig. The BMS accepted charge termination cleanly and held voltage within spec at rest. No delta-V anomalies were detected on the first three conditioning cycles.
  • First charge for NiMH cordless handsets: Place the handset in the base immediately after installing this pack and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — pulling it off the base early on the first charge leaves usable capacity on the table for the first several cycles.

Base station showing no charge or error light on a new NiMH pack

NiMH batteries self-discharge during storage. If the pack voltage drops far enough, the base station's charge controller may not recognise it as a valid battery — some circuits require a minimum resting voltage before initiating a charge cycle. The fix is to measure the pack voltage with a multimeter; anything below roughly 3.0V may require a brief trickle pre-charge from a compatible external charger to bring it above the acceptance threshold. Once the base sees a voltage it recognises, normal charging resumes. Most units recover fully after that initial boost.

Range drops mid-call after replacing the battery

DECT handsets draw a spike of current each time the RF transmitter fires — typically every 10ms on a standard DECT frame. A NiMH pack that hasn't completed conditioning cycles yet has higher internal resistance, which causes voltage to sag under that transmit load. The handset interprets the sag as low battery and reduces transmit power, cutting range. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles through the base station and the internal resistance drops — transmit voltage stabilises and range returns to normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My NorthWestern Bell handset talk time is much shorter than the old battery — is the new pack faulty?

Not likely. NiMH cells ship partially discharged and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. After the first charge, talk time will be noticeably short — that's the cells conditioning, not a defect. Run the handset until it prompts a low battery warning, then return it to the base for a full charge each time. By cycle five, capacity should be at or close to the rated 600mAh.

My NorthWestern Bell handset lost its pairing to the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset. The handset stores the pairing link in a small volatile memory that clears without power. Re-register the handset using the base station's paging or registration button — on most NorthWestern Bell models, hold the find-handset button on the base for five seconds while the handset is powered on and in range.

The handset battery is nearly dead every morning even though I left it in the base overnight — what's happening?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully seated in the charging cradle, the contacts don't make a solid connection and the base never actually charges the pack — the handset runs on standby draw all night and drains. Remove the handset, clean the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat the unit firmly, and check that the charge indicator light on the base activates within 30 seconds of docking.
