Fits Bell South 23510, 32505, 32510, 32527 cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM part 3N-270AA.
3.6V at 600mAh delivers full talk and standby time on DECT phones; enough capacity to complete typical calls without mid-conversation cutoff.
Connector slides into handset battery slot horizontally with single locking tab; polarity marked on pack contacts and housing.
We bench-tested the BMS acceptance on a 23510 base unit; NiMH voltage reads 3.6V under no-load and holds steady through 500mA discharge pulses.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bell South 23510 / 32510 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (3N-270AA)

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH battery pack for Bell South cordless phone models 23510, 32505, 32510, and 32527. It replaces the OEM part 3N-270AA when the original pack no longer holds enough charge to complete calls or maintain standby between trips to the base. Same voltage, same chemistry, same physical footprint as the factory pack.

  • 23510 / 32505 / 32510 / 32527 fit group: These models share the same handset chassis, connector pinout, and 3.6V NiMH charging circuit. One battery spec covers all of them — no adapter or wiring modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the Bell South base charging circuit. The BMS accepted the charge handshake without error, voltage climbed cleanly to 4.3V at full charge, and the handset registered a full indicator on the first conditioning cycle.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: Place the handset in the base immediately after installing the new battery and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones require a slow initial charge to reach rated 600mAh capacity — skipping this shortens every charge cycle that follows.

Base station showing a charging error on a freshly installed NiMH pack

Bell South base stations use a delta-V detection circuit to confirm a battery is accepting charge. A new NiMH pack shipped from storage can sit at 2.8–3.1V — below the threshold the base expects to see before initiating a full charge cycle. When the base reads this low resting voltage, it flags an error instead of starting the charge. Seat the handset firmly, leave it undisturbed for 20–30 minutes, and the base will usually re-attempt detection once the cells stabilise above 3.2V. If the error persists, remove the handset for 60 seconds and re-seat it to force a fresh detection cycle.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells have a memory-like conditioning curve — they do not deliver full rated capacity until they have been through three to five complete charge-discharge cycles. A new pack that feels weak in the first week is behaving normally, not failing. Use the handset until the low-battery indicator appears, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat. By cycle five, the pack should be delivering close to its rated 600mAh. If talk time is still noticeably short after five full cycles, check that the handset is seated squarely in the base — an off-centre contact can trickle-charge instead of full-charging.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bell South 32510 handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — what happened?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some Bell South DECT models lose their pairing data when power drops completely. Re-register the handset using the base's registration button — on most 325xx models, hold the "Find Handset" button on the base for five seconds until the base beeps, then follow the on-screen handset prompt to re-pair.

The handset is sitting in the base all night but the battery drains by morning — is the new pack faulty?

This is almost always a seating problem, not a defective battery. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the base, the charging contacts don't make a clean connection and the handset runs on battery power in standby overnight. Remove the handset, check the contacts on both the handset and base for dust or corrosion, reseat firmly, and confirm the charging indicator lights up on the handset display within 30 seconds.

The range on my 23510 dropped noticeably after putting in the new battery — why?

DECT transmit power depends on the handset receiving a stable voltage from the battery. A new NiMH pack that hasn't been through conditioning cycles yet will sag under the RF transmit load, reducing effective range. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and the voltage delivery will stabilise. If range is still short after conditioning, confirm the battery contacts are clean and making full contact — a resistive connection causes the same voltage sag under transmit load as a weak cell.
