This is an 8.4V, 3000mAh Ni-MH battery pack built to replace the XB617UN in the Euro Pro UV617 cordless handheld vacuum. It fits the UV617, UV617R, UV647H, and UV647HB. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge and the vacuum loses suction well before the job is done.

Ni-MH cells in high-draw appliances like handheld vacuums show terminal voltage sag under motor load before the indicator circuit registers a low-battery condition. The result is reduced suction that looks like a weak battery but is actually a voltage sag event. Clean the filter first, then check resting pack voltage — a healthy 8.4V Ni-MH should read at or above 8.0V off charge.

Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is blocked or the filter is restricted, the UV617 motor pulls sustained high current, and the protection circuit shuts the cell down to prevent damage. A short pause resets the trip and power returns. The fix is not a new battery — clear the blockage and clean or replace the filter. If cut-outs continue on a clean filter with a new pack, check that the motor brushes are not worn.
