Fits Alcatel T790Y, T790H, T790S, and T790W smartphones; replaces OEM battery part number TLP043E7.
Outputs 3.85V at 4250mAh capacity, delivering 16.36Wh total energy for full-day operation on the T790Y platform.
Connector type is proprietary Alcatel contact slot with positive and negative leads; installs vertically into the battery compartment without locking tabs.
We ran discharge cycles on a T790Y unit; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage steady under modem load until final 5% cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel T790Y Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLP043E7)

This is a 3.85V, 4250mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Alcatel T790Y, T790H, T790S, and T790W smartphones. It replaces the OEM cell TLP043E7 (also listed as TLp043E1) when the original no longer holds charge or has swollen. Dimensions are 78.54 × 63.00 × 4.95mm — measure your existing cell before fitting.

  • T790 series compatibility: The T790Y, T790H, T790S, and T790W share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — all use the TLP043E7 footprint with a matched 3.85V nominal rail.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on T790 series hardware. The BMS accepted charge current without fault flags, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the OS uses that data for percentage reporting.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the T790Y after a cell swap

A new Li-Polymer cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity curve than the aged cell it replaces. The fuel gauge IC on the T790Y is still calibrated to the old, degraded curve. When the phone hits a voltage point the IC associates with "nearly empty," it shuts down — even if the new cell still has usable charge. The fix is one full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging, which forces the coulomb counter to re-learn the cell endpoints. After that cycle, shutdowns below 30% typically stop.

USB fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement

On the first charge after fitting a new cell, the T790Y's charge IC may fall back to standard 5V charging rather than negotiating a higher voltage. This happens because the BMS on a new, uncalibrated cell can present an unusual impedance signature that causes the handshake to fail. Plug into a standard 5V charger for the first full cycle, then switch back to your fast charger on the second charge. Most users see fast charging resume normally from cycle two onward.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Alcatel T790Y shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the T790Y is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded battery. When voltage drops to a point the IC was trained to treat as near-empty, the phone cuts power — even though the new cell has charge remaining. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the early shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my T790Y is jumping around erratically after the swap — 60% one minute, 45% the next.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC calibration problem, not a faulty cell. The IC is interpolating from a stored discharge curve that no longer matches the new cell's voltage profile, so its capacity estimate swings as load shifts. One complete slow discharge-charge cycle — standard current, no fast charging — gives the IC enough data points to build an accurate curve for the new cell. After that cycle, percentage reporting should stabilise to within a few percent.

My T790Y gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is that normal?

Some warmth on the first one or two charges is expected. A new Li-Polymer cell at full impedance draws charge differently than a broken-in cell, and the charge IC works slightly harder to regulate current into it. The heat comes from the charge circuit, not from a fault in the cell itself. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or charging stops before 100%, check that the charge port is clean and the cable is not restricting current — then measure case temperature again on the second charge cycle.
