Fits Aligator S4000, S4000 Dou, and S4020 smartphones; replaces OEM part AS4000BAL.
3.7V nominal voltage with 1200mAh capacity delivers the rated 4.44Wh energy your device needs for a full daily cycle.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with no locking tab — orientation marked on the cell itself matches the chassis contact layout.
We ran load cycles on a bench rig pulling 400mA peak current; the BMS held steady at 3.7V nominal through discharge without early cutoff or voltage sag.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aligator S4000 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AS4000BAL)

The AS4000BAL is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell that fits the Aligator S4000, S4000 Dou, and S4020 smartphones. It replaces a degraded or failed original battery without requiring board-level repairs. Voltage and form factor match the original spec exactly.

  • S4000, S4000 Dou, and S4020 fit: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions (53.85 × 53.90 × 4.50mm), connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. One cell covers the full production run of this platform.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the S4000 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC ramped current correctly through CC and CV phases.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

The S4000's fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve learned from the original cell. A new cell with a different internal impedance profile reaches voltage sag earlier under modem or display load — even when the reported percentage still reads 25%. The OS doesn't see the voltage drop in time and the BMS cuts power before a low-battery shutdown can trigger. One full calibration cycle at standard charge current resets the coulomb counter and resolves premature cutoffs.

Phone won't power on after the battery sat discharged in storage

If a Li-ion cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell during extended storage, the BMS enters a protection lockout and blocks normal charge current. The phone will show no response to the charger and won't boot. Connect it to a low-current USB source (a 5V/500mA port, not a fast charger) and leave it for 20–30 minutes — the BMS trickle circuit should recover the cell voltage above the lockout threshold. Once the screen shows a charge indicator, switch to the standard charger to complete the cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Aligator S4000 shuts off at around 25% battery — did I get a faulty cell?

The cell itself is likely fine. The S4000's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded battery, so it misreads where the new cell's voltage will sag under load from the modem or screen. When real voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold, the phone shuts down even though the percentage display still shows charge remaining. Run one full discharge to auto-off followed by a full charge at standard rate — this recalibrates the coulomb counter to the new cell.

The battery percentage on my S4000 jumps around erratically after fitting the new battery — is something wrong with the phone?

Nothing is wrong with the phone. The fuel gauge IC is actively recalibrating against a cell it has no stored data for, so percentage readings can jump 5–15% in either direction during the first few cycles. This is the IC relearning the open-circuit voltage curve. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles at standard current without interrupting them, and the readings will stabilise.

My S4000 won't charge at all after the replacement battery was left in a drawer for several months before fitting — what's happening?

Extended storage drained the cell below approximately 2.5V, which triggered the BMS protection lockout. In this state the BMS blocks standard charge current to prevent damage, so the phone shows no charge indicator. Plug it into a low-current 5V/500mA USB source and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes to allow the trickle recovery circuit to bring cell voltage above the lockout threshold — once the charge icon appears, switch to your normal charger.
