Fits Amazing A2 smartphone; replaces OEM battery N970SL internal cell pack.
3.7V, 1400mAh lithium-ion chemistry powers processor, display, and modem for daily use.
Connector orientation is fixed; tab slots into frame recess — no forced insertion needed.
Bench testing showed BMS accepted 4.2V charging; fuel gauge IC calibrated across full discharge curve without fault codes.
On first full cycle after installation, disable fast charging — this recalibrates the phone's coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge signature before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazing A2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Amazing A2 smartphone. It slots into the A2 and restores power to the display, processor, and radio stack. Dimensions are 59.40 × 46.00 × 5.10mm — confirm clearance before installing.

  • Amazing A2 fit: The A2 runs a single-cell 3.7V nominal architecture. This cell matches that voltage rail and the physical connector orientation the A2 mainboard expects. No voltage mismatch, no connector adapter needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held charge termination correctly at 4.2V and did not trigger premature cutoff under simulated screen and modem load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then back to full. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before fast charging applies high current to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the A2 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity defect. When the A2's modem and display pull current simultaneously, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects based on the old cell's curve. The phone's low-voltage protection trips and forces a shutdown before the percentage reads zero. Running one full discharge cycle lets the coulomb counter recalibrate and the shutdowns stop.

A2 not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS locks out to prevent damage and the phone will not respond to a power button press. Connect the A2 to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell before voltage climbs high enough for the BMS to unlock and allow normal charging to resume.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Amazing A2 show 25% battery and then shut off with no warning after fitting the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so its voltage-to-percentage map is wrong for the new cell. Under combined modem and screen load, the cell voltage drops sharply at a point the IC doesn't flag as critical — the phone's low-voltage cutoff fires before the percentage reaches zero. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown and then charge to 100% without interruption, and the coulomb counter will remap to the new cell.

The Amazing A2 percentage jumps around erratically — goes from 60% to 45% in seconds, then back up.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell. The IC uses a stored discharge model built on the original cell; the new cell has a slightly different impedance curve, so voltage readings translate to wrong percentages. One complete uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle corrects the model. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.

My Amazing A2 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery arrived — it just sat in the package for a few weeks.

The cell self-discharged in transit and likely dropped below the BMS lockout threshold of around 2.5V. The BMS blocks current flow to protect the cell, so the phone appears completely dead. Plug into a known-good charger and leave it connected for at least 20 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers enough for the BMS to release and normal charging to begin.
