Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG Optimus P705 / P705g — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-44JH)
This is a 3.7V Li-ion battery rated at 2900mAh (10.73Wh), replacing the OEM BL-44JH cell in the LG Optimus P705 and P705g smartphones. It fits the internal battery bay directly, using the same connector and contact layout as the original. Voltage and physical dimensions match the OEM spec: 65.00 × 43.90 × 10.40mm.
- P705 and P705g compatibility: Both variants use the same BL-44JH footprint, voltage rail, and contact pinout. The BMS on each device handshakes with the same charge profile, so one cell covers both models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the P705 platform, confirmed the BMS accepted the charge handshake on the first cycle, and verified the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before resuming normal use. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the system starts making load-based predictions.
Why the P705 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The P705 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state using a coulomb counter calibrated to the original cell's internal resistance and discharge curve. When you install a new cell, the IC still references the old curve, so percentage readings drift — often reading high, then dropping suddenly. One complete discharge cycle down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full uninterrupted charge, forces the IC to rebuild its reference map against the new cell. After that cycle, readings stabilise and the gauge tracks accurately.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet recalibrated and the phone hits a load spike — screen brightness, modem transmission, or GPS — that pulls the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold faster than the gauge predicts. The cell voltage collapses under load even though the reported percentage still looks safe. It is not a defective battery. Run the phone down to forced shutdown, charge fully to 100% without interruption, and the gauge recalibrates its low-voltage prediction point. After one full cycle the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone switched off by itself at around 25% battery — is the replacement cell faulty?
No — this is a fuel gauge calibration issue, not a defective cell. The coulomb counter in the P705 was calibrated to the resistance curve of the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a load spike from the modem or screen, actual cell voltage drops below BMS cutoff before the gauge registers danger. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle resets the gauge's low-voltage threshold and the shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then skips to 40% a few minutes later without heavy use.
The fuel gauge IC on the P705 uses a stored discharge curve to estimate remaining charge. After fitting a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's actual discharge behaviour, so the percentage counter skips to catch up when voltage doesn't match the prediction. This is not a fault with the cell itself. Do one full discharge to shutdown followed by a full charge to 100% with the screen off — this forces the IC to relearn the curve and the erratic jumping stops.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS locks out to prevent damage — the phone will show no sign of life when you press power. Connect the phone to a wall charger (not a PC USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC on the P705 runs a trickle pre-charge recovery routine that brings the cell back above the BMS unlock threshold. Once the screen shows a charging indicator, the battery has cleared the lockout and will charge normally from that point.
