Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE Skate / G1315 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li3714T42P3h853448)
This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell built to the OEM spec for the ZTE Skate and G1315 series smartphones. It fits the original battery slot and connects to the same three-point contact pad used across the Skate, Skate G1315, G1315, and Tania variants. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or fails to power the phone through normal use.
- Skate and Tania platform compatibility: The Skate, G1315, and Tania share the same battery bay dimensions — 84 × 34 × 4mm — and the same contact layout. One cell part number, Li3714T42P3h853448, covers all variants because the charge IC and BMS handshake protocol are identical across this platform.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Skate platform. The BMS accepted charge current without flagging an error, held voltage above 3.6V through the mid-discharge range, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without triggering a forced shutdown loop.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to automatic power-off, then charge to 100% without interruption. The Skate's fuel gauge IC recalibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve during this first cycle. Skipping it causes the percentage reading to drift or jump for days.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the ZTE Skate after a cell swap
A new Li-ion cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile than the aged cell the Skate's charge IC was calibrated against. Under peak load — mobile data, screen at full brightness, a call connecting — the cell's terminal voltage dips sharply. The Skate's BMS reads that dip as a low-voltage event and cuts power before the fuel gauge reaches zero. The fix is completing at least one full discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC maps the actual voltage cliff of the new cell. After calibration, the shutdowns stop and the percentage reported at cutoff aligns with the real remaining capacity.
Phone warm near the battery compartment during first charge
A fresh Li-ion cell comes from the factory with higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled a few times. During the first charge, the Skate's charge IC pushes current into a cell that hasn't yet settled into its low-impedance state, and that resistance converts some energy to heat. This is normal for the first one or two cycles and not a sign of a faulty cell. If warmth continues past the third full charge, check that the battery contact pads are seated flat — a misaligned contact increases resistance further and amplifies heating.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ZTE Skate shows 25% battery and then just switches off — is that a fault with the replacement cell?
No — this is a voltage cliff mismatch between the new cell and the Skate's fuel gauge IC. The gauge was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it doesn't recognise the voltage drop the new cell makes under modem or screen load. Run one complete discharge to automatic power-off followed by a full uninterrupted charge. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's profile and the early shutdowns stop.
The ZTE Skate won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in the phone for a few weeks without charging — how do I recover it?
When a Li-ion cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS locks out to prevent damage from deep discharge. Connect the Skate to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS unlock threshold before switching to normal charge current. Once the charge indicator light appears, the BMS has re-initialised and the phone will boot normally.
The battery percentage on my ZTE Skate keeps jumping — it reads 60%, then drops to 40% two minutes later without heavy use — what's causing this?
The Skate's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell in memory. Against a new cell with a different capacity profile, it misreads the actual state of charge and reports erratic percentages. This is a calibration lag, not a defective battery. Discharge the phone fully until it powers off on its own, then charge it to 100% in one session — the IC rewrites its stored curve to match the new cell and the percentage stabilises from that point on.
