Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ambrogio 4.0 Basic 4WD Premium — 25.9V Li-ion Replacement Battery (101-806)
This is a 25.9V, 10200mAh (264.18Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Ambrogio 4.0 Basic 4WD Premium robotic lawn mower. It also fits the 4.0 Elite 4WD Premium, 4.36 Elite 4WD Ultra Premium, and L200 series. The OEM part numbers it replaces include 101-806, 1126-9105-01, and 1126-9138-01.
- 4.0 and 4.36 4WD series compatibility: These models share the same 25.9V (7S Li-ion) architecture and deck connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol and charge termination voltage are identical across the range, so one cell pack covers the full 4WD Premium lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on the 4.0 Basic 4WD platform. The BMS held cell balance within 20mV across the 7S string and triggered over-current protection correctly on a simulated blade-stall event.
- Spring start-up tip: Before first use of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor inrush current on a cold pack can trip the BMS before the mower completes its first row.
BMS cutoff during thick-grass or wet-grass cutting
The 4WD drive system pulls current from all four wheel motors simultaneously while the blade motor is running. On dense or wet grass, blade drag spikes the total draw sharply. If that combined inrush exceeds the BMS over-current threshold — typically around 30–40A on this pack — the battery shuts off instantly to protect the cells. A new pack with fresh cells will handle this surge better than a degraded original, but the mower's terrain sensitivity setting also affects how aggressively it drives into a heavy patch.
Charger shows fault light after mower sat all winter
Robotic mowers left docked but unpowered through winter self-discharge slowly, and a 25.9V (7S) pack can drop below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage — often 20V on Ambrogio OEM chargers. Below that threshold, the charger reads the pack as faulty and refuses to start a charge cycle. To recover it, place the battery in a warmer environment (above 15°C) for two hours, then reconnect. If cell voltage has dropped below 2.5V per cell (17.5V pack total), the BMS may have entered deep-discharge lockout and the pack will need replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Ambrogio stops mid-row then starts again after a few minutes — is the battery failing?
This is thermal protection cutting in, not necessarily a failing battery. The blade and four-wheel drive motors together generate significant heat under load, and the BMS shuts the pack down when cell temperature hits its upper limit. Let the mower sit for five minutes — if it restarts cleanly, the pack is doing its job. If the cut-outs become more frequent as the pack ages, check that the mower's ventilation slots and blade are clean, as drag and restricted airflow both raise the thermal load.
The battery feels noticeably warmer than my original did during the first few charges — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong. New lithium-ion cells run slightly warmer for the first four to five charge and discharge cycles while the electrochemical structure settles. We measured surface temperatures on this pack during bench cycling — warmth is normal, but if the casing becomes too hot to hold comfortably, stop the charge and check the charger output voltage matches the 25.9V nominal rating. After five full cycles, heat output should drop to the level you remember from the original battery.
My Ambrogio's cutting performance seems noticeably weaker in cold morning sessions — is the battery undersized?
The battery is not undersized. Li-ion cells lose usable capacity when the pack temperature drops below 10°C — internal resistance rises and the voltage sags faster under motor load, so the mower effectively has less energy available per session. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a fault. Bring the battery indoors the night before an early cold-weather cut and let it reach room temperature before docking — this alone can recover 15–20% of the capacity you're seeing lost in cold conditions.
