Fits Stiga Autoclip 140, 145, and 500 models; replaces OEM part 101-806.
25.9V at 10200mAh delivers 264Wh to the blade motor and navigation circuit.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left side.
We bench-tested this cell at full charge into a freshly reset BMS; the pack accepted current draw without early cutoff.
If the mower cuts out mid-row then restarts after five minutes, the BMS thermal protection activated—allow cooldown between sessions during heavy use.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Stiga Autoclip 140 Series — 25.9V Li-ion Replacement Battery (101-806)

This is a 25.9V, 10200mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Stiga Autoclip robotic mower range. It fits the Autoclip 140, 140 4WD, 145, and 500 series, among others. The battery slides into the mower's dock bay and communicates with the onboard BMS via the same multi-pin connector as the original pack.

  • Autoclip series compatibility: These models share a common 25.9V battery architecture, the same dock-connector pinout, and compatible BMS handshake protocols — which is why a single pack covers the full Autoclip range listed above.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through simulated blade-motor inrush cycles and monitored BMS response at full load. The protection circuit handled repeated high-draw events without nuisance tripping under normal operating conditions.
  • Seasonal storage tip: Before the first mow of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the cells have had a chance to warm up.

Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat unused all winter

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during storage. After several months in a cold garage, a pack can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage threshold — typically around 20V for a 25.9V nominal pack. When that happens, the charger's protection circuit reads the pack as faulty and refuses to begin a charge cycle. Some Stiga chargers include a recovery or wake-up mode; hold the charge button for five seconds to initiate it. If the charger has no recovery mode, a brief trickle from a compatible bench supply up to 22V will bring the cells back into the acceptance window so the standard charge cycle can begin.

Mower cuts out mid-row then restarts after a short pause

This is thermal protection, not a faulty battery. When the blade motor works hard through thick or wet grass, current draw spikes and the pack temperature rises. Once the BMS temperature sensor hits its cutoff threshold, it interrupts output to protect the cells. The mower recovers because the pack cools within a few minutes and the BMS resets automatically. Allow a five-minute cooldown on the dock before resuming, and consider scheduling mowing cycles during dry conditions when blade resistance is lower.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Autoclip charged fine last season but now the charger just flashes an error and won't start — what's happening?

The pack has most likely self-discharged below the charger's acceptance voltage threshold over winter storage. Stiga chargers reject packs that read below roughly 20V because the protection circuit can't confirm cell health at that level. Check whether your charger has a recovery or wake-up mode — holding the charge button for five seconds activates it on most Stiga docks. If not, a trickle from a compatible bench supply up to 22V will bring the pack back into the range the charger will accept.

The mower stops partway through a wet-grass run and the battery feels warm — is the pack failing?

That's thermal cutoff, not cell degradation. Wet or thick grass increases blade motor resistance, which drives up current draw and raises pack temperature. The BMS trips output when the temperature sensor hits its limit to protect the cells. Let the pack sit on the dock for five minutes — it resets automatically once it cools below the threshold. Scheduling mow cycles after the lawn has dried reduces the current spikes that trigger this.

New battery shows noticeably less run time than expected for the first few cycles — is it defective?

It isn't defective. Fresh Li-ion cells perform slightly below their rated capacity until the internal chemistry stabilises through charge-discharge cycling. On a 25.9V, 10200mAh pack this conditioning effect typically resolves within the first five full cycles. Run the battery through complete charge and discharge cycles without interrupting mid-cycle, and capacity will stabilise to its rated level by cycle five or six.
