Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ambrogio 4.0 Basic / Elite Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1126-9105-01)
This is a 25.2V, 6900mAh Li-ion battery pack for the Ambrogio 4.0 robotic lawn mower range. It fits the 4.0 Basic, 4.0 Basic 4WD, 4.0 Elite, 4.0 Elite 4WD, and over 60 additional compatible models. The OEM part number is 1126-9105-01, also referenced as CS C0106/1.
- 4.0 Series platform compatibility: The 4.0 Basic, Basic 4WD, Elite, and Elite 4WD share the same 25.2V battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping between these models requires no adapters or firmware changes — the pack clicks in and the mower reads it immediately.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the 4.0 platform. The BMS correctly reported state of charge to the mower's dock station, accepted charge without fault codes, and held voltage above the low-cutoff threshold through the complete discharge window.
- Spring recommissioning tip: Before first use of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if ambient temperature is below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS protection circuit on a cold pack — even when the pack is fully charged.
BMS Cutoff During Thick-Grass or Wet-Grass Blade Load
The blade motor on the 4.0 series draws significantly more current through dense or wet grass than on a dry, maintained lawn. If the momentary current spike exceeds the BMS overcurrent threshold, the pack shuts down mid-cycle as a protection response — not a battery fault. A new replacement pack can show this behaviour more often in its first few uses because the cells haven't yet settled into their operating resistance curve. After 5–8 full cycles, internal resistance drops and the BMS trips less readily under the same blade load. If cutouts persist beyond that, mow in a shorter cutting height setting to reduce motor load.
Charger Shows Fault Light After Mower Sat Unused All Winter
Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage. If the pack voltage drops below approximately 20V over a long winter, the charger's acceptance circuit may reject it and show a fault or refuse to start. This is a low-voltage lockout — the charger won't push current into a pack it reads as potentially damaged. Some Ambrogio dock chargers will retry automatically after a 30-minute wait; if not, connect the pack to a compatible Li-ion charger with a "recovery" or "wake" mode to bring cell voltage above the acceptance threshold (typically 21V), then return to the dock.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Ambrogio 4.0 cuts out halfway through a row and then starts again after a few minutes — is this the battery failing?
This is thermal protection activating, not a failing cell. When the blade motor works hard through thick or wet grass, the BMS monitors pack temperature and current draw — if either exceeds the protection threshold, it shuts the pack down briefly to prevent damage. The mower restarts once the pack cools. Let it sit for a full 5 minutes before resuming, and if it keeps happening, lower the cutting height by one step to reduce motor load.
The dock charger is refusing to charge this new pack — the fault light comes on immediately. What's happening?
The pack may have discharged below the charger's acceptance voltage during shipping or storage. Ambrogio dock chargers typically reject packs below roughly 20–21V as a safety measure. Check the pack with a multimeter across the terminals — if voltage reads below 20V, use a standalone Li-ion charger with a recovery or boost mode to bring it above the acceptance threshold, then reconnect to the dock. The dock should then begin a normal charge cycle.
The new battery feels noticeably warmer than my old one during the first few charges — should I be concerned?
Warmth during early cycles is normal for a new Li-ion pack. Fresh cells have slightly higher internal resistance before they are conditioned, which generates more heat during charge and discharge. By cycle 5, internal resistance settles and the pack will run cooler. If the pack is too hot to hold comfortably — above roughly 45°C — that is outside the normal range; stop charging and check that the dock contacts are clean and making solid contact.
