Fits ZCS Tech D5, D7, and D20 cordless lawn mowers; replaces OEM battery SKU CS-ABL100VX.
25.2V and 6900mAh capacity deliver full blade torque on dense grass and wet conditions without mid-cut shutdowns.
Connector slides straight into the mower battery slot with a positive-left orientation; locking tab seats flush on first insertion.
We bench tested this cell on a D5 under full-load blade spin; BMS held steady through repeated inrush peaks and showed no early cutoff.
Before first spring use, bring the pack indoors overnight if outdoor temps are below 10°C — cold Li-ion raises internal resistance and blade motor startup current can trip the BMS on a frozen pack.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZCS Tech D5 / D7 / D20 — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 25.2V 6900mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack on the ZCS Tech D5, D7, and D20 cordless lawn mowers. It slots into the same battery bay and connects via the same discharge port used across this mower family. Capacity is 6900mAh (173.88Wh) — matching the factory specification.

  • D5, D7, and D20 compatibility: All three models share the same 25.2V battery platform, connector housing, and BMS handshake protocol. A single pack works across the range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack under simulated blade-motor load. The BMS held steady through repeated inrush events and cut off cleanly at the correct low-voltage threshold without nuisance tripping on moderate draw.
  • Seasonal storage before first mow: If the mower has sat in an unheated garage through winter, bring the battery indoors for at least 12 hours before charging. Cold cells have higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS before the pack has warmed to a normal operating temperature.

BMS cutoff during thick-grass or wet-grass cutting

Wet or dense grass increases blade drag sharply, which spikes the current the motor draws at the moment the blade bites in. If the pack's state of charge is below roughly 30%, the BMS may read that inrush as an overcurrent event and shut the motor down. This is a protection response, not a fault. Let the mower rest for two minutes, restart, and tackle the patch in two slower passes rather than one fast one. Keeping the pack above 25.2V resting voltage before heavy-load cuts reduces the chance of a trip.

Charger shows a fault light after winter storage

Li-ion cells that sit uncharged through a cold winter can discharge below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 20V for a 25.2V pack. The charger reads this as an unsafe pack and refuses to enter CC/CV charge mode, so the fault light comes on immediately. Most ZCS Tech chargers include a recovery or wake mode; consult the charger label for the correct button sequence to initiate it. If no recovery mode is available, a bench power supply set to 22V at 0.5A for 10–15 minutes will raise the cell voltage enough for the charger to accept the pack normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ZCS Tech mower cuts out halfway across a row, then starts again a minute later — what's happening?

This is thermal protection activating in the BMS. The blade motor builds heat during sustained high-load cutting — long rows of thick or damp grass are the main trigger. The pack shuts output down to protect the cells, then recovers once internal temperature drops. Allow a 5-minute cooldown with the mower stopped, then continue. Breaking a large lawn into shorter cutting sessions also prevents the cutout from recurring.

The new battery runs noticeably warmer than the old one did — is that a fault?

Not a fault. Fresh lithium-ion cells go through a conditioning phase during the first four to five full charge-discharge cycles. During this period, internal resistance is slightly higher than it will be once the cells are run in, which produces more heat under load. By cycle five or six the pack should settle to a normal operating temperature. If it is still running hot enough to be uncomfortable to touch after ten cycles, that is worth investigating further — check that the battery bay vents on the mower are clear of grass clippings.

The mower feels sluggish and loses power fast on the first use of spring — battery fault or something else?

Almost always the cold, not a fault. Lithium-ion cells lose a meaningful portion of their usable capacity below 10°C — internal resistance rises and the BMS becomes more conservative about the discharge curve. Bring the battery indoors the night before your first spring mow and let it reach room temperature before charging. A pack that has warmed to 18–20°C will deliver noticeably more consistent blade speed than one pulled straight from a cold garage.
