Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ambrogio 4.0 Basic / Elite Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1126-9105-01)
This 25.2V 9000mAh (226.8Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Ambrogio 4.0 Basic, 4.0 Basic 4WD, 4.0 Elite, and 4.0 Elite 4WD robotic mowers, along with over 60 additional compatible models. It matches the original voltage rail, connector, and BMS communication protocol. Capacity figure is taken directly from product specifications — 9000mAh at 25.2V nominal.
- 4.0 Basic and Elite platform fit: The 4.0 Basic, Basic 4WD, Elite, and Elite 4WD all share the same 25.2V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. One pack covers all four variants without any adapter or wiring modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through blade-motor start sequences and navigation load transitions. The BMS held voltage within spec across both the drive motors and cutting deck draw without triggering overcurrent cutoff under normal grass conditions.
- Seasonal storage and first spring charge: Before the first mow of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor inrush current on a cold pack can trip the BMS before the mower completes its first row.
BMS cutoff under thick grass or wet-lawn blade load
When the cutting deck hits dense or wet grass, the blade motor draws a sharp inrush current that can spike well above normal running load. If the BMS reads this spike as an overcurrent event, it trips and the mower stops mid-row. This is more likely on a new or recently stored pack whose cells haven't settled into their working resistance. Running two or three shorter mow cycles on a freshly installed battery lets the cells condition before tackling a full heavy-load session.
Charger shows fault light after mower sat unused all winter
If the battery discharged below roughly 20V during long storage, the charger's acceptance circuit may refuse to begin a charge cycle — indicated by a steady fault or red light with no current flow. This is a low-voltage lockout, not a dead pack. Place the battery in a warm room (above 15°C) for two hours, then reconnect the charger. Most packs recover and begin accepting charge once cell temperature stabilises above the BMS re-initialisation threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Ambrogio stops mid-row on thick or wet sections of the lawn then starts again on its own — what's happening?
This is thermal protection activating in the BMS when the blade motor inrush current exceeds the pack's cutoff threshold under heavy load. It's most common on wet or dense grass where the cutting deck has to work harder. Allow a five-minute cooldown after each trip — the BMS resets once internal temperature drops. If it happens repeatedly on the same patch, mow that section in a second pass after the first cycle has reduced grass height.
After the mower sat in the garage all winter, the charger won't accept the battery — the fault light comes on immediately. Is the pack dead?
Not necessarily. If the battery self-discharged below the charger's acceptance voltage over winter — typically anything under 20V — the charger locks out rather than force current into deeply discharged cells. Move the battery indoors to a room above 15°C and leave it for two to three hours before reconnecting the charger. Cell temperature and resting voltage often recover enough to cross the acceptance threshold, and the charger resumes a normal cycle.
The new battery runs noticeably warmer than the old one during the first few mow sessions — should I be concerned?
No — this is normal cell conditioning on a fresh pack. New Li-ion cells run at slightly higher internal resistance for the first three to five full charge and discharge cycles, which produces more heat than a fully conditioned pack. The temperature should level off after those initial cycles. If the battery is still running hot to the touch after five full sessions, check that the battery bay vents on the mower are clear of grass clippings and debris before continuing.
