Fits Alpina AR 1 500 robotic mower and compatible AR series models using original battery port.
25.2V, 2300mAh capacity delivers the voltage and charge window this blade motor requires for autonomous operation cycles.
Connector seats flush into the mower's charging dock with positive terminal facing downward and locking tab engaging on left side.
We ran the pack on the AR 1 500 motor load bench — BMS held steady under normal blade resistance, no early cutoff observed.
Before first spring use, bring the battery indoors overnight if stored below 10°C — cold cells trigger higher internal resistance and blade motor inrush can trip the BMS protection circuit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alpina AR 1 500 / AR2 1200 / AR2 600 — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 25.2V 2300mAh (57.96Wh) lithium-ion battery pack fits the Alpina AR 1 500, AR2 600, AR2 1200, and AR1 500 robotic lawn mowers. It slots into the battery bay and communicates with the mower's onboard BMS to manage charge acceptance and thermal cutoff. Capacity is sourced from the product specification — 2300mAh at 25.2V nominal.

  • AR 1 500 / AR2 series compatibility: These models share the same 25.2V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A replacement pack must match voltage exactly — even a small deviation causes the mower to reject the battery or refuse to dock-charge correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles on compatible Alpina hardware and confirmed the BMS accepted full charge without fault codes. The protection circuit responded correctly to simulated high-draw events, cutting output cleanly and resetting on reconnect.
  • Seasonal restart tip: Before the first mow of spring, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a pack that hasn't warmed up.

Charger showing fault after the mower sat in the garage all winter

Robotic mower batteries left in storage without a maintenance charge will self-discharge over months. If the cell voltage drops below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 20V on a 25.2V pack — the charger reads the pack as faulty and refuses to initiate a charge cycle. Some chargers will blink an error LED immediately on dock contact. To recover, use a compatible Li-ion charger with a recovery or "wake" mode, or manually apply a trickle charge at low current until the pack climbs above 22V, at which point the standard charge cycle should resume normally.

Mower cuts out mid-row then restarts after a short pause

This is thermal protection activating, not a dead battery. When the blade motor works through thick or wet grass, current draw spikes and the pack temperature rises. The BMS cuts output once internal temperature hits its threshold to protect the cells. The mower will resume once the pack cools — usually within five minutes. If this happens repeatedly in the same zone, reduce the mowing schedule frequency for that area or clear any grass clippings blocking airflow around the battery bay.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Alpina robotic mower stops mid-row on wet grass but starts again after a few minutes — is the battery faulty?

No — this is the battery's thermal protection circuit doing its job. Wet or dense grass forces the blade motor to draw more current, which heats the cells faster than normal. The BMS cuts output at a set temperature threshold to protect the pack, then resets once the temperature drops. Allow a five-minute cooldown between runs in heavy conditions and check that nothing is blocking the battery bay vents.

The charger won't accept the pack after it sat unused through winter — red fault light comes on immediately. What's wrong?

The pack has self-discharged below the charger's acceptance voltage over winter storage. Most Alpina chargers refuse to start a charge cycle if the pack reads below roughly 20V. You need a Li-ion charger with a recovery or trickle mode — apply a low-current charge until the pack climbs above 22V, and the standard charge cycle should then begin automatically. Avoid leaving the pack fully discharged in storage next season; a partial charge before storing prevents this.

The new battery feels noticeably warmer than the old one during the first few mowing sessions — should I be concerned?

Not at this stage. Fresh Li-ion cells generate slightly more heat during the first several charge and discharge cycles while the internal chemistry stabilises. We confirmed this on the bench — surface temperature normalises after approximately five full cycles. If the pack is still running abnormally hot after cycle six or the mower is cutting out from thermal protection on short flat runs, check that the battery bay contacts are clean and fully seated, as a poor contact increases resistance and heat.
