Fits Lizard M4, M440, M480, M485 lawn mowers; replaces CS-ABL110VX battery pack.
25.2V and 9000mAh delivers consistent blade motor power across thick grass without mid-cut voltage sag.
Connector slides straight into the M4 battery slot with a positive-side locking tab; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested this pack under full blade load; the BMS held steady through multiple cutting cycles with no premature cutoff.
Before first use each season, bring the battery indoors overnight if outdoor temperature is below 10°C — cold Li-ion cells trigger blade motor inrush cutoff on the BMS.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lizard M4 / M440 / M480 / M485 Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 25.2V, 9000mAh (226.8Wh) lithium-ion battery for Lizard cordless lawn mowers. It fits the M4, M440, M480, M485, and additional models in the same series. The voltage and connector match the original pack so the mower's BMS handshake completes without modification.

  • M4 series compatibility: The M4, M440, M480, and M485 all run the same 25.2V power rail and use the same battery bay connector. One replacement covers all models in this group without any adapter or rewiring.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through blade-start inrush cycles on M4-class mower loads. The BMS held across repeated high-draw starts and stepped down correctly at low-cell-voltage cutoff thresholds.
  • Seasonal storage tip: Before the first mow of spring, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before a single row is finished.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

Wet or dense grass puts sustained high current through the blade motor, well above normal cutting load. If the pack is already warm from a previous run, the BMS thermal threshold can be reached faster than expected and the mower shuts down mid-row. This is a protection event, not a fault. Let the pack rest for at least five minutes in open air, then resume — the BMS resets automatically once cell temperature drops back inside the safe window.

Charger showing fault light after mower sat in garage all winter

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly over months of storage. If a pack sits unpowered through winter, individual cells can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V per cell — and the charger refuses to initiate a charge cycle, showing a fault or blinking red. Some chargers have a recovery or "boost" mode that applies a trickle current to bring cells back above the acceptance threshold. If your charger lacks that mode, a Li-ion recovery charger set to 25.2V at low current (0.1C) for 15–20 minutes is usually enough to bring the pack back into normal charge range.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Lizard M4 cuts out halfway through a row then starts again after a minute — what's happening?

This is thermal protection triggering, not a battery fault. The blade motor draws heavy current through thick or wet sections, and when the pack's internal temperature hits the BMS cutoff limit, the mower shuts off to protect the cells. Once the pack cools below the threshold — usually within five minutes — the BMS resets and power returns. To reduce how often this happens, avoid mowing wet grass and clear any grass buildup from under the deck that forces the blade to work harder.

My new Lizard battery feels noticeably warmer than my old one after a full mow — is something wrong?

Warmth on a new pack is normal for the first several charge-discharge cycles. Fresh cells have slightly higher internal resistance until the chemistry stabilises, which generates more heat under load. After around five full cycles the temperature during and after mowing should drop to a level comparable to a used pack. If the battery is too hot to hold comfortably after a normal mow beyond cycle five, check that the battery bay vents on the mower are clear of grass clippings and debris.

The Lizard M4 mower starts fine in summer but feels noticeably weaker on the first cold morning of autumn — is the battery failing?

No — Li-ion cells lose usable capacity when the pack temperature drops below 10°C because cold increases internal resistance and reduces how much current the cells can deliver. The blade motor sees the same load but the battery is physically less able to meet the demand at that moment. Bring the battery indoors for a few hours before mowing on cold mornings, and the output will return to normal levels. A pack that only performs poorly in cold but runs well once warmed up is not degraded — it is behaving as Li-ion chemistry normally does.
