This is a 3.7V, 4400mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Archos AC101OX4G and OXYGEN 4G 10-inch Android tablets. It replaces OEM part numbers 3097138 and 29100145. When the original cell degrades and the tablet no longer holds a charge, this unit restores full power capacity.

Why the AC101OX4G shuts down at 15–25% remaining

The tablet's charge IC calibrated its low-voltage cutoff point against the old, degraded cell. With a fresh cell installed, the voltage curve is steeper in the lower range, and the IC triggers shutdown earlier than the displayed percentage suggests. The fix is a full recalibration cycle: discharge the tablet to automatic shutoff, then charge without interruption to 100%. After one complete cycle, the fuel gauge IC maps its cutoff thresholds to the new cell's actual discharge curve and shutdown at false-high percentages stops.

Fast charging unavailable after battery replacement on the OXYGEN 4G

Some users find the fast charge option greyed out or absent in Android settings after fitting a new cell. The charge protocol negotiation between the USB-PD controller and the battery management system requires at least one accepted standard charge cycle to re-establish the handshake. Plug in using the original charger and let the tablet complete one full charge at standard rate without unplugging early. Once that cycle completes, fast charge negotiation resumes normally on subsequent connections.

The new 3.7V Li-Polymer cell needs one full reference cycle before the gauge tracks accurately. Discharge the tablet completely to automatic shutoff and charge straight to 100% without interruption. Percentage reporting stabilises after that first full cycle.

The tablet feels warm near the charging port while the new battery charges — is that a fault?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is normal. The charge IC on the AC101OX4G runs a conditioning pass on a new Li-Polymer cell, which generates slightly more heat than a settled cell absorbs. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or the charge IC cuts off repeatedly, check that you are using a charger within the rated input spec for the tablet. Gentle warmth that fades after the first two or three charges is not a fault.
