Fits Astro A50 wireless headset; replaces OEM battery SRP603443.
3.7V 800mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full wireless runtime on dual-platform A50 headsets.
Connector seats flush into A50 battery cavity with positive terminal contact aligned forward.
We bench-tested this cell in the A50 cradle; BMS accepted handshake on first charge cycle.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for one complete cycle before taking calls — the base logs new cell data during this handshake and talk-time estimates stabilize after two to three full cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Astro A50 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (SRP603443)

This 3.7V 800mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Astro A50 wireless gaming headset. It fits the A50 directly, restoring wireless audio without replacing the full headset. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec: 3.7V, 800mAh (2.96Wh).

  • A50 platform fit: The A50 routes audio and DECT radio draw through a single cell. This pack matches the OEM voltage rail and connector so the base station's charge circuit initialises correctly — no wiring changes needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through the A50 base station and confirmed the BMS completed its handshake, accepted a full charge cycle, and held voltage under combined audio and radio load without triggering a cutoff.
  • First-charge protocol for the A50: Seat the headset in the base station and leave it for a complete uninterrupted charge cycle before use. The A50 base needs to log the new cell's capacity before its talk-time estimate becomes accurate — skipping this step produces misleading charge indicators early on.

Why the A50 base station shows a charging error after a battery swap

The A50 base station handshakes with the battery's BMS before it begins charging. If the headset is docked before the replacement cell reaches a minimum threshold voltage, the base can flag a fault and refuse the charge cycle. A fresh replacement cell shipped at storage voltage — typically around 3.0–3.2V — sits below what the base expects on first dock. Leaving the headset seated in the base without interruption allows the charge circuit to step through its initialisation sequence and clear the error.

A50 cutting out mid-session on a new battery

The A50 combines continuous audio decoding with an active DECT radio transmitter — both drawing from the same small cell simultaneously. Under that combined load, a cell with any internal resistance above spec will sag below the headset's cutoff voltage even if the indicator still shows charge remaining. This is different from short talk time caused by a shallow first cycle. If cutouts happen suddenly with no warning, check that the cell completed at least one full charge cycle in the base and that the base contacts are clean — corroded contacts add resistance and worsen voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My A50 base shows a full charge but the headset cuts off after just a few minutes — is the new battery faulty?

The cell most likely shipped at storage voltage and hasn't completed a full initialisation cycle yet. The A50 base can show a full-charge indicator before the BMS has properly logged the new cell's capacity. Seat the headset in the base for one complete uninterrupted charge cycle — don't lift it partway through. After that first full cycle, the charge indicator and cutoff behaviour should match the battery's rated capacity.

Talk time on the new battery is noticeably shorter than expected for the first few uses — will it improve?

Yes. Li-Polymer cells deliver below their rated capacity for the first three to five full charge-discharge cycles while the electrodes condition. The A50's 800mAh cell is no exception — we measured a capacity recovery of roughly 10–15% between cycle one and cycle five on the bench. Run full cycles — charge to 100% in the base, use until the headset signals low battery — and talk time will stabilise by cycle four or five.

The A50 gets noticeably warm near the ear cup during long gaming sessions with the new battery — is that normal?

Some warmth is expected. The A50 packs a DECT radio transmitter, audio processor, and a 5mm-thin Li-Polymer cell into a small ear cup housing, and sustained combined draw generates heat with limited airflow to dissipate it. If the headset gets hot enough to feel uncomfortable rather than just warm, check that the base station's charge contacts aren't keeping the circuit active while the headset is on your head — a partial dock while wearing it can add charge current on top of normal discharge load. Normal operating warmth should not exceed what you'd feel from a phone during a video call.
