Fits Gigabyte M912 and R912 notebooks; replaces OEM part 92BT0030F.
7.4V at 4900mAh gives 36.26Wh — sustains full CPU load during portable use.
Connector slides straight into the M912 battery slot with side locking tab engagement.
We ran full discharge and recharge cycles; BMS accepted handshake on first insertion without fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gigabyte M912 / R912 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (92BT0030F)

This is a 7.4V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 4900mAh (36.26Wh), sourced to match the original 92BT0030F specification. It fits the Gigabyte M912 and R912 notebook series. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the laptop fails to run off wall power during a disconnect.

  • M912 and R912 platform fit: Both models share the same 7.4V two-cell Li-ion architecture and use identical connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the M912 platform. The BMS cleared protection flags correctly, and the charge controller reached 4.2V per cell without thermal event.
  • First-cycle recalibration on the M912: After fitting, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff on battery alone, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting the 92BT0030F

The M912 BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers carried over from the old cell. A new cell ships with default EEPROM values that do not match what the BIOS expects from an aged battery's charge history. The system flags this mismatch as degraded health. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — the BIOS learn cycle rewrites those registers against the new cell's actual chemistry and clears the warning.

Fuel gauge jumping between 40% and 5% with no warning before shutdown

The fuel gauge IC on the M912 calibrates its coulomb-counting model against charge and discharge curves it has logged over time. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile than the cell it replaced, so the IC's stored model is immediately inaccurate. This causes erratic state-of-charge readings for the first two to three cycles. Run three complete discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles — by the third cycle the IC has enough data to track the new cell accurately and readings will stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Gigabyte M912 shuts down at around 25% battery shown — is the new 92BT0030F cell faulty?

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a faulty cell. Under full CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops sharply below the threshold the BMS tolerates before the fuel gauge reaches 0%. The BIOS learn cycle hasn't yet mapped where that cliff sits on the new cell's discharge curve. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles with the screen at full brightness and a CPU load running — after that, the BIOS recalibrates its cutoff threshold to match the new cell and the early shutdowns stop.

The M912 BIOS shows the wrong Wh rating after fitting this replacement battery — should I be concerned?

No. The Wh figure displayed in BIOS is pulled from the EEPROM on the old cell's data registers, not measured directly from the new cell's chemistry. The 92BT0030F is rated at 36.26Wh, but until the learn cycle runs, the BIOS may display the previous cell's stored value. Complete one full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted charge to 100% — the BIOS will rewrite the EEPROM value to 36.26Wh and the correct rating will appear on the next boot.

The replacement battery charges to 80% then stops — the M912 just sits plugged in and the indicator stays solid without reaching 100%.

This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault with the cell. Many Gigabyte notebooks ship with a battery conservation mode enabled in the BIOS that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. Enter the BIOS setup at boot, navigate to the power or battery settings menu, and disable the charge limit or conservation mode setting. After saving and rebooting, the cell will charge to 4.2V per cell and the indicator will show 100%.
