Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

BBK VIVO NEX / NEX S / NEX A — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B-E6)
This is a 3.85V, 3900mAh (15.02Wh) Li-Polymer cell for the VIVO NEX, NEX S, NEX A, and NEX Global Dual SIM. It replaces part number B-E6 when the original cell has degraded or failed. The flat pouch form factor measures 78.05 × 63.30 × 4.60mm and fits the NEX chassis without modification.
- NEX S, NEX A, and Global Dual SIM compatibility: All four models share the same B-E6 cell footprint, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake and charge IC communication line are identical across the NEX lineup, so one cell covers the entire series.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full discharge and charge on the NEX platform. The BMS accepted the charge handshake without fault flags, and cell voltage held within the expected 3.85V nominal range across the discharge curve.
- First-cycle fast charge behaviour: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the VIVO NEX after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue. The new cell's discharge curve does not match the lookup table the fuel gauge IC built from the old, degraded cell. When the modem transmits or the AMOLED panel peaks in brightness, current draw spikes and the new cell's voltage briefly sags below the system cutoff threshold — even though the reported percentage looks safe. The phone interprets that sag as a hard low-voltage shutdown event. Running one full discharge to around 3.0V and a full charge cycle lets the coulomb counter reset its reference points against the actual cell.
VIVO NEX reporting wrong battery percentage after replacement
The fuel gauge IC on the NEX stores a charge curve learned from the old cell. After a swap, the IC is still referencing that stale curve, so percentage readings can jump erratically or read 100% when the cell is not fully charged. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a calibration mismatch. Discharge the phone until it shuts down automatically, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging off. After that single cycle the fuel gauge IC rebuilds its curve against the new B-E6 cell and percentage accuracy stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions
My VIVO NEX won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
Almost certainly a BMS lockout from deep discharge in storage. Li-Polymer cells drop below 2.5V per cell during extended storage, and the protection circuit opens to prevent damage — blocking all output. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold. Once voltage climbs above approximately 3.0V, the BMS closes and the phone will power on normally.
Fast charging stopped working on my VIVO NEX right after I swapped the battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
The VIVO fast-charge protocol negotiates between the charge IC and the charger on the first cycle after a cell swap, and a new BMS sometimes causes the handshake to fall back to standard 5V charging until the cell completes one full cycle. This is not a fault in the charger or the replacement cell. Complete one full standard charge to 100%, then disconnect and discharge normally. On the next charge cycle the fast-charge negotiation should re-establish at the correct voltage and current.
The VIVO NEX feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell at full factory state of charge has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC compensates by running a higher charge voltage across that resistance, which produces more heat than usual for the first few cycles. As long as the phone is not hot to the touch and charging stops at 100%, this is normal break-in behaviour. If warmth persists beyond three full charge cycles, check that the replacement cell dimensions match the 78.05 × 63.30 × 4.60mm spec — a cell that does not seat flat creates additional thermal resistance.
