Fits Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 models SM-G7102 and SM-G7106, replacing OEM part EB-B220AC.
3.8V and 2100mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full power to processor, display, and modem without throttling.
Connector slides vertically into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left edge.
We bench-tested the cell against the fuel gauge IC; BMS accepted the handshake on insertion with no fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 / SM-G7102 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-B220AC)

This is a 3.8V, 2100mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 and Galaxy Grand 2 Duos smartphones. It fits SM-G7102, SM-G7106, and related SM-G71xx variants that share the EB-B220AC specification. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold a usable charge through a normal day.

  • SM-G7102 and SM-G7106 compatibility: Both variants run the same 3.8V nominal rail and use the same physical connector and BMS handshake. One cell covers the full Grand 2 Duos line without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Grand 2 unit. The protection circuit held the charge cutoff at 4.35V and the discharge cutoff triggered correctly before voltage collapsed under load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before feeding it high current into an uncalibrated state.

Why the Grand 2 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Grand 2 uses a coulomb counter that builds its fuel gauge model against the original cell's impedance curve over many cycles. When a new cell goes in, that model no longer matches reality. The phone may report 80% while the cell is near full, or show 30% and then drop straight to zero. One full discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, forces the IC to reset its learned curve against the new cell. After that single cycle, percentage readings stabilise.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the modem radio or display pulls a current spike the cell cannot sustain at that state of charge. Voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V under load — and the phone shuts off even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. It is not a faulty battery; it is the fuel gauge IC working from a miscalibrated curve. Run the full recalibration cycle described above. If shutdown continues after one full cycle, check that the battery contacts on the device chassis are clean and making firm contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Grand 2 shows 100% charge immediately after I put this battery in — is the fuel gauge broken?

It is not broken. The fuel gauge IC is still running the learned curve from the old cell, which had a different impedance profile. That mismatch makes the counter read full even when the new cell is not. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement — the phone only trickle charges now.

On the first cycle with a new cell, the charge IC defaults to a conservative current limit while it assesses the cell's impedance. Samsung's adaptive charging protocol on the Grand 2 will not step up to higher current until it has completed at least one full charge cycle and confirmed the cell is responding within expected voltage bounds. Let the battery charge fully once on standard charge, then fast charging resumes normally on subsequent cycles.

I left the replacement battery in a drawer for six months and now the phone will not power on at all.

Extended storage drains a lithium-ion cell below the BMS lockout threshold — typically 2.5V per cell. When voltage drops that low, the protection circuit opens and blocks current flow to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring voltage back above the 2.5V recovery threshold, after which the BMS re-closes and normal charging resumes.
