Replaces CalAmp OEM part number 1BF112-E601435 for LMU-200, LMU-300, LMU-800, and LMU-3000 GPS trackers.
3.7V lithium-polymer cell at 200mAh capacity restores full GPS reception and data transmission in fleet tracking units.
Connector fits the internal battery slot with no modification; polarity marked on the pack matches CalAmp's contact layout.
We bench-tested this cell in an LMU-200 unit; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage stable under active GPS polling.
After installation, power the unit fully on outdoors and allow 5–10 minutes for cold satellite acquisition before deploying on active routes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CalAmp LMU-200 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (1BF112-E601435)

This 3.7V, 200mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the internal battery in the CalAmp LMU-200 GPS tracking unit. It also fits the LMU-300, LMU-800, and LMU-3000. The battery sustains GPS reception and cellular data transmission during vehicle tracking operations when the primary power source is interrupted.

  • LMU series compatibility: The LMU-200, LMU-300, LMU-800, and LMU-3000 share the same compact Li-Polymer cell format, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The internal BMS handshake is consistent across these units, so one replacement cell covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the LMU platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held voltage within spec through the full discharge curve, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and let it acquire a full satellite fix before deploying the vehicle. The LMU performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts are under a minute once GPS almanac data is rebuilt.

Why the LMU-200 stops transmitting position data after power loss

The LMU-200 stores its last known configuration and network registration state in battery-backed memory. When the internal cell drains completely, that state is lost. On restart, the unit re-registers with the cellular network from scratch before it begins transmitting GPS positions again. Depending on network congestion, this re-registration can take several minutes — this is a software handshake delay, not a hardware fault.

LMU-200 shuts off without warning before the battery indicator trips

After a cell ages, its actual discharge curve no longer matches the voltage thresholds the firmware was calibrated against. The unit reads sufficient voltage until a sudden load spike — typically a cellular transmission burst — pulls the cell below 3.0V and triggers a hard cutoff. The visual low-battery warning never fires because the voltage drop is too fast. Replacing the cell restores the flat mid-range discharge curve the firmware expects, and the warning threshold behaves correctly again.

Frequently Asked Questions

The LMU-200 lost all its fleet configuration after we swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The LMU-200 holds network registration data and some configuration parameters in battery-backed volatile memory. Full removal of the internal cell clears that memory. After fitting the new cell, the unit will re-register with the cellular network and pull its configuration from the backend server — allow up to 10 minutes on first power-up before assuming a fault.

Satellite lock is taking 8 minutes after the battery replacement — was the cell installed wrong?

No — this is a cold start, and it is expected. The GPS receiver lost its stored almanac and ephemeris data when the old cell was fully discharged. The unit has to download fresh satellite positioning data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with clear sky view. Once that data is cached, subsequent locks will drop under a minute.

The replacement LMU-200 battery drains noticeably faster when the vehicle is stationary but the unit is still active — what's happening?

When the vehicle is stationary, the LMU-200 still polls GPS at its configured interval and maintains a cellular keep-alive. At 200mAh, the cell has a small reserve — polling frequency set too aggressively in firmware will exhaust it faster than during normal driving cycles where primary vehicle power is always present. Check the unit's reporting interval setting in your fleet management portal and increase the standby poll interval to reduce draw on the backup cell.
