Fits Carneo 400 and SC400 robotic vacuums, replacing the OEM 14.4V Ni-MH battery pack.
14.4V, 2000mAh capacity delivers consistent voltage to the motor and navigation circuit throughout cleaning cycles.
Battery slides into the rear compartment with a single locking tab; connector seats flush without force.
We bench-tested this Ni-MH pack on the Carneo dock — BMS accepted the charge protocol without fault codes.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently; continuous trickle charging degrades Ni-MH capacity faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Carneo 400 / SC400 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Carneo 400 and SC400 robotic vacuum cleaners. It slots into the battery bay and restores power to the motor and navigation system when the original cell has degraded. Capacity is 2000mAh (28.8Wh), matching the factory specification.

  • 400 and SC400 platform fit: Both models share the same 14.4V motor rail, battery bay dimensions, and connector pinout — the same cell covers both. The BMS on these units monitors cell voltage and temperature; Ni-MH chemistry is required because the charger profile expects the voltage drop signature that Ni-MH produces at full charge, not a Li-ion curve.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through discharge under a sustained motor load and confirmed the BMS accepted it without a protection trip. Voltage held above the low-cutoff threshold through normal operating draws across hard floor and low-pile carpet simulation.
  • Dock charging habit on robotic vacuums: Do not leave the Carneo 400 sitting on the dock between every cleaning cycle. These units trickle-charge when docked, and Ni-MH cells lose capacity significantly faster under continuous trickle current. Charge to full, remove from dock, and return it only when the cell needs a charge.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor is working harder than its rated draw — usually because the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll is restricted. The extra current causes voltage to sag at the cell terminals even though the battery still holds charge. The BMS reads the sag as a near-depleted state and reduces power to the motor. Clean the filter and check the brush roll before assuming the battery is at fault.

Replacement battery not charging on the dock

The Carneo 400 charger uses the voltage drop at end-of-charge — a Ni-MH characteristic — to terminate the charge cycle. If the replacement cell sits at full charge before docking, the charger may not detect a sufficient voltage drop and terminates almost immediately, making it appear the battery never charged. Start a cleaning cycle to partially discharge the cell, then dock it. The charger should then detect a proper charge curve and run through a full cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Carneo 400 cuts out mid-clean and then starts again after a few seconds — what's causing that?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, or a tight corner creating sustained airflow blockage — the motor pulls more current than the BMS allows and it cuts power to protect the cell. The vacuum recovers once the trip resets. Clean the filter and clear the brush roll, then run another cycle to confirm the cutoff stops.

The new battery runs for noticeably less time than the old one did when it was new — is something wrong?

Check the filter first. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current continuously, which depletes the cell faster than normal and can make a 2000mAh battery behave like a much smaller one. If the filter is clean and the issue persists, the cell may need a few full charge-discharge cycles to reach rated capacity — Ni-MH cells often show reduced output for the first two or three cycles before stabilising.

The Carneo 400 has been sitting on the dock for several weeks and now the battery drains much faster — did the battery fail?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of capacity fade in robotic vacuums using Ni-MH cells. The charger delivers a low trickle current indefinitely when the unit stays docked, and prolonged trickle current degrades Ni-MH cells faster than normal cycling. Remove the vacuum from the dock when it reaches full charge and only return it when the battery needs charging. If the cell has already been on continuous dock charge for an extended period, run three full discharge-and-charge cycles off the dock to partially recover capacity.
