Fits Rolando RA 201 S vacuum cleaner; replaces OEM battery for this model.
14.4V and 2000mAh capacity restore full motor voltage under sustained suction loads.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a locking tab on the underside.
We bench-tested this Ni-MH pack on the RA 201 S motor load; BMS accepted the charge without fault codes.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH cells develop capacity fade under trickle charge; charge to full and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rolando RA 201 S — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V Ni-MH replacement battery rated at 2000mAh (28.8Wh) for the Rolando RA 201 S cordless vacuum cleaner. It slots directly into the RA 201 S battery compartment and restores power to the motor drive circuit. Use this when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge.

  • RA 201 S motor platform: The RA 201 S runs a brushed DC motor on a 14.4V rail. Ni-MH chemistry matches the charge profile the onboard circuit expects. Dropping voltage or swapping chemistry disrupts that balance and can trip the protection circuit prematurely.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through repeated charge and discharge passes on the RA 201 S motor platform. The BMS held cutoff cleanly at end-of-discharge and accepted the full charge cycle without false trips.
  • Dock charging on the RA 201 S: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously between uses. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums develop capacity fade noticeably faster under constant trickle charge. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the cell can deliver cleanly under load. A partially blocked filter is the most common trigger — restriction forces the motor to pull harder, which drags cell voltage down early. The BMS interprets this voltage sag as a depleted cell and begins throttling output. Clear the filter first, then retest under normal carpet load.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or a heavily restricted filter, current draw spikes past the protection threshold and the BMS opens the circuit. After a brief cooldown the BMS resets and the motor runs again. Check the filter and clear any blockage at the inlet before running a full clean. If trips continue on a clean filter, measure resting cell voltage — it should sit above 12.5V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My RA 201 S runs for a much shorter time on the new battery than it used to — is the replacement cell faulty?

Short runtime on a new Ni-MH cell is usually a filter issue, not a faulty battery. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which depletes the cell faster than normal. Remove and clean the filter thoroughly, then run a full charge-discharge cycle. If runtime is still noticeably short after two full cycles, check resting voltage after a full charge — it should read at or above 14.4V.

The RA 201 S won't charge on the dock after fitting the replacement battery — the indicator light just stays off.

Some chargers expect a minimum resistance signature from the battery pack before starting a charge cycle. If the cell arrived in a deeply discharged state, the charger may not recognise it. Connect the vacuum to the dock for at least 30 minutes without interruption — the charger on the RA 201 S will sometimes begin a slow pre-charge on a very flat Ni-MH cell before switching to the normal charge rate. If the indicator still shows nothing after 30 minutes, check that the battery contacts inside the compartment are clean and making firm contact.

The battery on my RA 201 S used to last well but faded quickly over several months — what caused it?

Continuous dock charging is the primary cause of capacity fade in Ni-MH cordless vacuums. Leaving the RA 201 S on the dock between every use exposes the cell to constant low-level charge current, which degrades cell capacity faster than normal cycling. Store the vacuum off the dock once the charge indicator shows full. Run the cell through a full discharge before recharging — this also helps recondition Ni-MH cells that have developed memory effect from repeated shallow cycles.
