Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Carneo SmartCleaner 610 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 14.4V 3500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Carneo SmartCleaner 610 robotic vacuum cleaner. It fits directly into the SmartCleaner 610 and restores autonomous cleaning operation when the original cell has lost capacity or failed completely. Voltage and capacity match the factory specification.
- SmartCleaner 610 fitment: The SmartCleaner 610 uses a 14.4V Ni-MH pack at this physical footprint — 90.06 x 69.53 x 45.45mm. The BMS in this robot expects a Ni-MH cell chemistry; swapping to a different chemistry without a firmware-aware charger will cause charge rejection or incorrect cut-off behaviour.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the SmartCleaner 610 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the motor draw stayed within the expected current envelope across both hard floor and carpet test passes.
- Dock charging behaviour on Ni-MH: Remove the SmartCleaner 610 from its charging dock once the charge cycle completes. Ni-MH cells on continuous trickle charge from a dock develop capacity fade faster than cells charged only when depleted — this applies directly to how the SmartCleaner 610's dock handles a full pack.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The SmartCleaner 610 motor pulls more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter is the most common cause. Under that extra load, Ni-MH cells show voltage sag earlier than the charge indicator predicts, so suction weakens while the indicator still reads mid-charge. The vacuum interprets this as normal operation and does not flag a low-battery warning. Clean or replace the filter first; if suction recovers and the battery indicator aligns with actual run behaviour, the cell is fine.
Motor cuts out mid-cycle then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. Sustained restricted airflow — usually a blocked brush roll or clogged filter — forces the motor to draw above the BMS current threshold, triggering a protective cutoff. The pack resets after the thermal and current conditions drop, which is why the vacuum restarts after a pause. Clear the brush roll and filter, then check that the restart happens normally; if the trip occurs again on a clean filter, measure pack voltage at rest — it should read above 13.5V on a fully charged Ni-MH 14.4V pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SmartCleaner 610 seems to lose suction halfway through a clean even though the battery isn't showing low — is the new battery the problem?
Most likely not the battery. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes voltage sag on the Ni-MH pack before the charge indicator catches up. The vacuum loses suction while still showing a mid-level charge. Clean or replace the filter and run another cycle — if suction holds, the battery is working correctly.
The SmartCleaner 610 cuts out during a cleaning run, sits for a minute, then starts again on its own — what's happening?
That behaviour is a BMS overcurrent trip resetting itself. The motor draws above the pack's current threshold when airflow is restricted — usually a blocked brush roll or full dustbin — and the BMS cuts power to protect the cell. Once current and temperature drop, the pack resets. Clear the brush roll, empty the bin, and check the filter; if the cutout stops, the battery is not at fault.
My SmartCleaner 610's run time has got noticeably shorter after a few months with the replacement battery — what causes that?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause on Ni-MH packs. The SmartCleaner 610 dock applies a trickle charge to a full battery indefinitely, and Ni-MH cells lose capacity significantly faster under that condition than cells charged only when depleted. Remove the vacuum from the dock once the charge indicator shows full. If you have already been leaving it docked permanently, run two full discharge-and-charge cycles off the dock to partially recondition the cell.
