Fits Hoover RBC001, RBC002, RBC003, RBC004B and related models using OEM part numbers 35601254 or RB201.
14.4V Ni-MH pack delivers 3500mAh capacity—enough voltage to sustain motor torque on carpet and hard floors without mid-cycle sag.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a locking tab that seats flush against the vacuum housing.
We bench-tested this pack on the RBC001 charging circuit; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage stable under suction load.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously—Ni-MH cells on permanent trickle charge lose capacity fast; charge to full and remove from dock.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hoover RBC001 Series — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (35601254)

This is a 14.4V, 3500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Hoover RBC001 robotic vacuum cleaner and its close variants. It replaces OEM part numbers 35601254 and RB201. Fit models include the RBC001, RBC002, RBC003, RBC004B, and over 20 additional units in the same platform family.

  • RBC-series platform compatibility: These models share a common 14.4V power rail, identical cell bay dimensions, and the same connector and BMS communication protocol — which is why one battery covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge cycles on the RBC dock and confirmed the BMS completed full charge handshake, released correctly at capacity, and held voltage under sustained motor load without tripping overcurrent cutoff.
  • Dock charging habit on the RBC series: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Hoover RBC units on continuous dock charge develop capacity fade faster than units charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next cleaning cycle.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells under sustained motor load experience voltage sag — the battery reads as charged but cannot hold voltage under peak draw. On the RBC series, the drive and suction motors share the same rail, so sag hits suction first while navigation continues normally. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw above rated current, which accelerates the sag. If the original battery shows this symptom, a fresh cell at full 3500mAh will restore consistent suction output across a full clean cycle.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the filter is restricted, the suction motor draws sustained current above the BMS threshold — the pack shuts the output to protect the cells, then resets after a short cooldown. Replacing the battery will not fix this if the filter is the root cause. Clean or replace the filter first, then recharge the new battery to full — a rested, fully charged cell at 14.4V handles normal motor-start surge without tripping.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hoover RBC vacuum charges fine but loses suction halfway through a clean — is the new battery actually holding its capacity?

This is voltage sag under motor load, not a capacity labelling issue. Ni-MH cells that read as charged can still drop output voltage when the suction motor draws peak current — especially if the filter is even partially blocked, which forces the motor above rated draw. Clean the filter first, then run a full charge cycle and test again. A healthy cell at 14.4V fully charged will maintain suction through a normal cleaning run without mid-cycle dropout.

The RBC cuts out during cleaning, sits for a minute, then starts again — why does this keep happening on a brand new battery?

That restart pattern is the BMS overcurrent trip resetting after cooldown — it is not a fault with the replacement cell itself. A restricted or dirty filter forces the suction motor to pull sustained current above the BMS cutoff threshold, so the pack shuts output to protect the cells. Replace or thoroughly clean the filter before concluding the battery is at fault. After fitting a clean filter, charge the battery to full and confirm the resting voltage reads at or above 14.4V before testing.

I left my Hoover RBC on the dock all the time and now the new battery seems to be fading already after just a few weeks — what is going wrong?

Continuous dock charging applies a low-level trickle current to Ni-MH cells even after they reach full charge, and this degrades capacity faster than normal charge-discharge cycling. The RBC dock is not designed to switch off the charge circuit once the pack is full. Remove the vacuum from the dock after each full charge and only return it when the battery is depleted. Following this pattern will slow cell degradation significantly and keep capacity closer to the rated 3500mAh over time.
