Fits Casio Exilim EX-S770SR and replaces OEM part number NP-20.
3.7V lithium-ion cell at 650mAh delivers the energy density this compact camera needs for sustained shooting without voltage sag mid-session.
Connector is a single-pin contact slot; insert with contact facing the camera body spring and push until the locking tab seats flush.
We ran a full discharge cycle through the camera body — BMS accepted the cell on first insertion with no authentication delay or fault codes.
On initial install, run one full charge cycle inside the camera body before heavy shooting so the display calibrates battery-remaining percentage accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Casio Exilim EX-S770SR Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NP-20)

This is a 3.7V, 650mAh Li-ion cell built to the NP-20 spec. It fits the Casio Exilim EX-S770SR and over 60 other Exilim compact camera bodies that use the same NP-20 footprint. The cell measures 50.80 × 32.45 × 4.60mm — same physical envelope as the original.

  • Exilim EX-S770 and EX-S880 platform: Both series share the NP-20 battery slot, the same 3.7V power rail, and the same contact pinout. One cell covers the full range without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an EX-S770 body. The camera's BMS accepted the cell, reported a charge state, and held the LCD on through a full discharge without dropping into low-voltage cutoff prematurely.
  • First-cycle calibration on Exilim bodies: Run one complete charge cycle through the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. Exilim cameras map their battery-remaining indicator against a stored voltage curve — skipping this step causes the indicator to read erratically from the first shot.

Dead battery indicator showing on a partially charged NP-20 replacement

Exilim compact cameras use a simple voltage-threshold system to estimate remaining charge. A new third-party cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the original, so the camera can read 3.85V on the cell and still flash the empty battery icon. This is a calibration mismatch, not a faulty cell. Charge the replacement fully in-camera once, let it discharge to auto-off, then charge again — the threshold mapping corrects after one full cycle.

Flash not recycling fully between shots on a new cell

The EX-S770's flash capacitor draws a sharp recharge current spike after each fired shot. If the cell voltage sags below 3.6V mid-shoot — common when the cell is partially discharged or cold — the capacitor recharge slows and the ready indicator lags. This is not a flash fault. Bring the cell to a full charge before a shooting session and keep the camera body above 15°C. At full charge, the cell sustains the capacitor recharge without measurable sag.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Exilim EX-S770 shows "no battery" or won't turn on with the new NP-20 installed — what's wrong?

This is usually the camera's BMS running an authentication check on the new cell before accepting it. Remove the battery, reinsert it firmly so all three contacts seat flush, then place the camera on charge via the OEM charger or USB cable for a full cycle. Most EX-S770 bodies accept the cell after one charge from within the camera body — power cycle once after the charge completes and the no-battery warning clears.

The battery percentage on my Exilim jumps around — shows 80%, then drops straight to 10% mid-shoot. Is the cell defective?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The Exilim indicator maps remaining charge against fixed voltage thresholds tuned to the OEM cell's discharge curve. A replacement cell with a slightly different curve hits those thresholds at different points, causing the display to skip levels. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle in the camera body and the indicator stabilises — the BMS recalibrates its reference points against the actual cell behaviour.

I'm getting far fewer shots per charge than the camera's rated shot count — what's draining it?

Shot count ratings are measured under controlled conditions with flash disabled, LCD brightness reduced, and no video. On an EX-S770, enabling flash, running the LCD at full brightness, and using continuous autofocus all add significant draw beyond that baseline. The 650mAh cell is correct for this body — check that power-save mode is active and LCD timeout is set to the shortest interval. Those two settings alone reduce draw enough to bring shot count close to rated figures.
