Fits Samsung SDC-MS61S digital cameras; replaces OEM part SB-LH73.
3.7V and 650mAh lithium-ion delivers full power for extended photography and video sessions.
Compact 46 x 36 x 6mm form factor seats flush in camera battery compartment without adapter.
We bench-tested this cell in the Samsung body; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no fault cycles.
On initial install, run one full charge cycle through the camera body before heavy shooting — Samsung's battery-remaining display requires this handshake to track capacity accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SDC-MS61S — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SB-LH73)

This is a 3.7V, 650mAh Li-ion cell built to the SB-LH73 specification. It fits the Samsung SDC-MS61S digital camera. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or fails to power the camera through a full shoot.

  • SDC-MS61S platform fit: The SDC-MS61S uses the SB-LH73 form factor — a slim 46.10 x 35.67 x 5.82mm cell that locks into the battery door and connects directly to the camera's power management circuit. No adapter needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench to confirm BMS handshake with the camera body. The protection circuit responded correctly to charge termination and low-voltage cutoff without flagging a fault state.
  • First-install charge cycle on the SDC-MS61S: Run the first full charge inside the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. Some Samsung camera BMS systems need one in-body charge cycle before the battery-remaining indicator maps accurately to the new cell's discharge curve.

Dead battery indicator on the SDC-MS61S with a partially charged replacement cell

The SDC-MS61S reads battery level by comparing the cell's voltage against stored thresholds in the camera's firmware. A new third-party cell can have a slightly different discharge curve than the OEM cell the firmware expects. This causes the camera to misread voltage and trigger a low-battery warning even when the cell still has capacity remaining. One full charge-and-discharge cycle through the camera body usually recalibrates the indicator to the new cell.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the SDC-MS61S display

Erratic percentage jumps happen when the camera's voltage-to-percentage mapping doesn't match the discharge curve of the replacement cell. The SDC-MS61S samples cell voltage and translates it to a percentage reading — if the curve shifts, the reading jumps. This is a display calibration issue, not a fault in the cell itself. Charge the battery fully to 4.2V via the camera body and complete one full discharge cycle to let the firmware re-anchor its voltage thresholds.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SDC-MS61S shows "no battery" or refuses to power on after I installed the replacement SB-LH73 — what's happening?

The SDC-MS61S runs a BMS authentication check on first contact with a new cell. If the camera doesn't recognise the cell immediately, it can display a no-battery error even though the cell is seated correctly. Remove the battery, reinsert it firmly, then place the camera on charge using the OEM charger for a full cycle before attempting to power on. That charge cycle is usually enough to clear the rejection state.

The shot count on my SDC-MS61S dropped sharply compared to what I expected from a 650mAh cell — why?

Shot count on the SDC-MS61S is affected by more than just cell capacity. Flash recycling, continuous autofocus, image stabilisation, and LCD brightness all pull current beyond what a basic shot-count estimate accounts for. Cold ambient temperatures also raise internal resistance and reduce usable capacity. If shot count is lower than expected, check that flash is not set to fire on every frame and reduce LCD brightness — those two changes alone reduce current draw noticeably.

The flash on my SDC-MS61S is taking longer to recycle between shots near the end of a charge — is the battery faulty?

This is normal behaviour at low cell voltage, not a fault. The flash capacitor in the SDC-MS61S recharges by drawing a high current burst from the cell. As cell voltage drops toward the 3.2–3.4V range, the camera's power management circuit limits available current to protect the cell, which slows capacitor recharge. If recycling lag starts well above the low-battery threshold, charge the cell fully and retest — sustained slow recycling at a full charge state would indicate cell degradation.
