Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CAT S60 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (APP-12F-F5757I-CGX-111)

This is a 3.85V, 3500mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original battery in the CAT S60 rugged smartphone. It matches OEM part APP-12F-F5757I-CGX-111 and fits the S60 directly. Capacity is 13.48Wh, identical to the factory spec.

  • CAT S60 fit: The S60 runs a single-cell Li-Polymer pack at 3.85V nominal. This cell matches that voltage rail, the physical footprint (57.32 × 56.56 × 7.20mm), and the connector orientation. No modifications needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full discharge, and a second charge on the S60. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC completed a full cycle without thermal shutdown.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the CAT S60 after a cell swap

The S60's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches real cell voltage under load. Under modem transmit or screen-on load, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC expects, triggering an emergency cutoff even when the reported percentage looks safe. One full slow discharge-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to rebuild its reference map against the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.

CAT S60 not powering on after a replacement battery sat in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS latches into a protection lockout and blocks all output. The phone sees no voltage and will not respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB hub — and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC applies a trickle current that slowly raises cell voltage above the BMS unlock threshold, typically around 2.8V, at which point the BMS re-enables output and the phone boots normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CAT S60 keeps shutting off at around 25% battery — is the new cell faulty?

This is almost always a fuel gauge IC mismatch, not a faulty cell. The IC still holds the discharge curve from your old, degraded battery. When the new cell's voltage drops under modem or screen load, the IC hits its emergency cutoff point earlier than the percentage shown. Run one full discharge from 100% to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging off. That single cycle forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the new cell's actual voltage curve.

Fast charging stopped working on my S60 after I put in the replacement battery — what's wrong?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes withholds high-current charging until it has confirmed the new cell's impedance profile. This is normal BMS behaviour, not a fault. Let the phone complete one full standard-rate charge cycle first. After that cycle, fast charging should re-enable automatically — if it does not, check that the USB cable and charger are rated for the S60's fast charge protocol (5V/2A or 9V/2A depending on your charger).

The battery percentage on my CAT S60 is jumping around erratically after the swap — 60% one minute, then 45% the next.

Erratic percentage jumps point directly to the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell. The coulomb counter lost its reference when the old cell was removed, and it is now making rough estimates based on voltage alone. Charge the phone fully to 100% using a wall adapter, then drain it in normal use until it shuts down on its own — do not top up mid-cycle. Recharge to 100% without interruption. After this single full cycle, the IC re-anchors its state-of-charge estimate and percentage readings stabilise.
