Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clover Heated Glove — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (1100BATT)

This is a 7.4V, 2900mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for Clover heated gloves. It slots in where the original 1100BATT pack sits, powering the glove's heating elements directly. Capacity figures are taken from the product data — 21.46Wh total stored energy.

  • Clover 1100BATT platform fit: Clover heated gloves in this line share a common 7.4V two-cell Li-Polymer architecture. The connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol match across units that use the 1100BATT part number, so this pack communicates correctly with the glove's heat controller.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge cycles and stepped the heat setting from low to high. The BMS held stable across all three heat levels and triggered protection correctly when we simulated a sustained over-current draw at maximum setting.
  • First-use heat setting protocol: Start on the lowest heat setting for the first 10 minutes on a new battery. The heating elements pull significant current at maximum, and a fresh cell benefits from a short break-in period before running at full power draw.

Heating element cutting out mid-use on maximum setting

The 1100BATT BMS includes an over-current protection threshold that activates when sustained current draw exceeds its limit. On maximum heat, the resistive heating elements pull roughly 3–4x more current than on low. If the cell voltage dips under load — especially in temperatures below 5°C — the BMS reads this as an unsafe condition and cuts output. The glove controller then goes dark until the pack is reset. This is a protection event, not a battery fault.

Battery not reaching full voltage after charge on a degraded cycle count

Li-Polymer cells lose charge acceptance gradually with each cycle. A pack that charges to only 8.0V instead of the nominal 8.4V full-charge ceiling has measurable capacity loss — the glove may never reach maximum heat level because the controller throttles the highest setting below a minimum voltage threshold. Check the pack voltage with a multimeter at the connector immediately after the charger light turns green. If it reads below 8.2V, the cell is degraded. Replace the pack and confirm the new battery reads 8.3–8.4V at full charge before first use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Clover heated gloves won't reach the highest heat level even on a full charge — what's wrong?

The highest heat setting on Clover gloves requires the pack to sustain a voltage above a minimum threshold under load — if the battery dips below roughly 7.0V when the elements are drawing full current, the controller steps the heat down automatically. This happens when a cell has degraded capacity and can't hold voltage under the sustained draw of maximum heat. Check the pack voltage under load: plug in and switch to high, then measure at the connector — a healthy 2900mAh pack should hold above 7.2V. If it drops below that within the first few minutes, the battery needs replacing.

My Clover glove battery drains noticeably faster in very cold weather — is that normal?

Yes, and it's a Li-Polymer characteristic, not a fault. Cold temperatures reduce a lithium cell's ability to deliver its full rated capacity — at 0°C a 2900mAh pack may effectively deliver closer to 2200–2400mAh before the BMS cuts off. Keep the battery pack as close to your body as the glove design allows to hold the cell temperature up. On very cold days, use the low or medium heat setting to reduce current draw and extend the usable charge window.

My Clover heated glove battery won't respond after the glove cut out mid-use — how do I reset it?

The 1100BATT BMS trips into protection mode when it detects a sustained over-current or low-voltage event, and the pack will appear completely dead until it's reset. Disconnect the battery from the glove, then connect it to the charger for at least 60 seconds — the charger applies a low-current pre-charge that re-initialises the BMS protection circuit. After the charger LED confirms the pack is receiving charge, run a full charge cycle before reconnecting to the glove. If the BMS trips again immediately on high heat, step down to medium and check the connector voltage, which should read above 7.4V under load.
