Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Macna Gloves & Socks — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (K-BAT-7.4VOLT-3.0A)
This is a 7.4V, 3000mAh (22.2Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Macna heated gloves and socks system. It slots into the original battery housing and powers the heating elements through the existing connector. Capacity matches the OEM specification listed against part number K-BAT-7.4VOLT-3.0A.
- Gloves and socks on the same pack: Both the glove and sock variants in the Macna heated range share the same 7.4V nominal rail and connector format. The heating elements in each garment are tuned to this voltage — running either on a mismatched voltage risks element damage or no heat output at all.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through all three heat settings and confirmed the BMS held stable under sustained high-setting draw. The pack reached cut-off voltage without tripping prematurely and accepted a full charge without thermal event.
- First use on cold-weather days: Start on the lowest heat setting for the first 10 minutes when using a new or newly charged battery in freezing conditions. Li-Polymer cells deliver lower peak current when cold — starting on maximum heat immediately can trigger the BMS protection circuit before the cell warms to operating temperature.
Heating element cutting out mid-use on maximum setting
The maximum heat setting on the Macna gloves draws sustained high current — significantly more than the low or medium settings. If the battery cell has aged or the ambient temperature is very low, internal resistance rises and the BMS reads a voltage sag that crosses its protection threshold. The circuit opens to prevent cell damage, which kills heat output instantly even though the battery still shows charge. Switching to medium setting and allowing the pack 60 seconds to recover before returning to high will often reset the BMS without removing the battery.
Battery draining noticeably faster than rated on high heat
High heat setting draws roughly three to four times the current of low setting — this is not a fault, it is the physics of resistive heating elements at full power. A 3000mAh cell at high draw will deplete its usable capacity far faster than the same cell trickle-loaded on low. In sub-zero conditions this gap widens further because cold reduces the lithium polymer cell's deliverable capacity below its rated 22.2Wh. Keeping the battery pack tucked inside a sleeve or close to the body preserves cell temperature and recovers a measurable portion of that lost capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Macna gloves aren't reaching the highest heat level even on a full charge — what's causing that?
The highest heat setting requires the battery to sit above a minimum voltage threshold to sustain full element current. If the cell voltage drops below roughly 7.0V under load — even briefly — the gloves step down to a lower heat level automatically. This happens with aged cells whose internal resistance has climbed, or with a new battery that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle. Charge the pack to 100% and confirm the charger LED shows a completed charge before testing on maximum.
The heating cuts out completely after a few minutes on high, but comes back when I switch to low — is the battery faulty?
This is the BMS protection circuit opening under sustained peak current draw, not a dead cell. When the battery is cold or the cell's internal resistance is elevated, voltage sags sharply under high-setting load and the BMS trips to protect the cell. Switch to low or medium for 60 seconds to let the cell voltage recover, then step back up to high. If the trip repeats within a few minutes consistently, the cell has degraded past the point where it can support full heating current and replacement is the fix.
The battery works fine indoors but loses heat output much faster once I'm outside in the cold — why?
Li-Polymer cells lose deliverable capacity as temperature drops — a 3000mAh pack at 0°C can deliver noticeably less usable energy than the same pack at 20°C. The heating elements still draw the same current, so the battery simply runs out of usable capacity sooner in the cold. Keeping the battery pack against your body rather than on the outside of the glove cuff slows this temperature drop and extends heat output. If that's not possible, pre-warming the pack indoors immediately before use gives you the full rated capacity from the start.
