Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Macna Li-po 12v 6a — 11.1V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (K-BAT-Li-12VOLT-6.0A)
This 11.1V, 6000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original Macna K-BAT-Li-12VOLT-6.0A pack. It fits Macna heated jackets, vests, and gloves that run on the Li-po 12v 6a platform. Capacity is 66.6Wh — matched to the original specification.
- Li-po 12v 6a platform compatibility: Macna heated garments in this range share a common 11.1V three-cell architecture and a matching connector and BMS handshake. Swapping this battery into any Li-po 12v 6a compatible garment requires no adapters or wiring changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the full three-heat-setting cycle on compatible Macna heated clothing. The BMS held stable across all settings, with no spurious cutoff events during sustained draws at the highest setting.
- First cold-weather ride tip: Start on the lowest heat setting for the first 10 minutes with a new battery. Heating elements at maximum draw significant current immediately, and the cells benefit from a short warm-up period before full-power operation in sub-zero conditions.
Heating element cutting out mid-ride on maximum setting
The Macna heated garment BMS triggers a protective cutoff when sustained current draw at maximum heat pushes cell voltage below the BMS floor — typically around 9V for a three-cell Li-Polymer pack. This is more likely on a cold day because low ambient temperature accelerates voltage sag under load. The cutoff is not a fault — it is the BMS protecting the cells from damage. Drop to the mid or low setting for two to three minutes to let cell voltage recover, then return to maximum if needed.
Battery draining noticeably faster on high heat than expected
The highest heat setting on Macna heated garments draws three to four times more current than the lowest setting — this is normal and not a battery defect. A 6000mAh pack will deplete proportionally faster when the heating elements are running at full power continuously. If heat time feels shorter than expected, check that the garment connectors are seated fully — a loose connection creates resistance that makes the BMS read a lower state of charge than actual. Reseat both ends of the battery connector and retest at the mid setting before assuming cell degradation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Macna heated jacket isn't reaching the highest heat level even with a fully charged battery — what's wrong?
The highest heat setting requires the battery to sustain above roughly 10.5V under load. If the cells have degraded through repeated shallow cycling, the pack voltage sags under the current demand of maximum heat before the BMS would normally trigger a low-voltage cutoff. Check the indicator: if the battery shows full charge at rest but the garment won't hold the top heat level, the cells have lost capacity. Charge the replacement pack to 100% before first use and test at maximum setting immediately after a full charge.
My Macna battery is draining much faster in very cold weather — is the pack faulty?
Li-Polymer cells lose usable capacity in cold conditions — at 0°C a pack can deliver 15–20% less energy than at room temperature, and below -10°C the loss is more significant. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a defect. Keeping the battery pack against your body or inside a jacket inner pocket rather than in an external pouch retains cell temperature and slows the capacity drop. If heat duration is still significantly shorter after keeping the pack warm, measure resting voltage after a full charge — it should read 12.5–12.6V on a healthy 11.1V three-cell pack.
Can I use two Macna K-BAT-Li-12VOLT-6.0A batteries in rotation, and will switching mid-use damage them?
Rotating two packs is a practical approach for long cold-weather rides. Switching mid-use is safe as long as each pack is above 9V before you connect it — plugging in a deeply discharged pack while the garment is drawing current can trigger an immediate BMS cutoff. Store the off-duty pack inside a jacket pocket to keep it warm while the active pack depletes. Check resting voltage on the spare before each swap — 11V or above is the safe threshold for a clean handover.
