Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Datalogic Memor 10 / BTDL35 / DM88 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RH57857990014)
This 3.8V, 4000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Datalogic BTDL35, Memor 10, and DM88 handheld barcode scanners. These units are widely deployed in retail, warehouse picking, and logistics workflows where a dead battery stops the shift cold. Voltage, connector, and BMS handshake all match the OEM specification.
- BTDL35 / Memor 10 / DM88 platform fit: All three models share the same 3.8V cell format, battery bay dimensions, and contact pinout. The BMS negotiation protocol is identical across the platform, so one replacement pack covers the full family without any firmware or connector workaround.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the Memor 10 with continuous scan-and-transmit sequences. The BMS held steady through repeated scan-trigger inrush events and wireless polling without tripping an early cutoff or throwing a charge fault.
- First-shift cradle protocol: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and let it complete a full charge cycle before pulling it for pick-and-pack. Scan-trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum voltage — a fully charged cell on the first shift prevents false BMS trips that can look like a faulty battery.
Cradle showing a charging error on a brand-new pack
A charging error on a new pack is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a failed cell. The dock pins on the Memor 10 and DM88 cradles accumulate dust and oxidation quickly in warehouse environments. Even slight resistance at the contacts is enough for the dock's charge controller to flag a fault. Wipe the battery contacts and cradle pins with a dry cloth, reseat the pack firmly, and the error clears in most cases.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
When the scanner fires the imager and transmits over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth simultaneously, the combined current draw spikes sharply. If the cell voltage has sagged from repeated shallow cycling, the BMS may briefly throttle output to protect the cell — and the radio drops first because it draws less priority than the CPU. This presents as intermittent disconnects timed exactly with heavy scanning activity rather than idle periods. Charge the pack fully before the shift and check that cell voltage is above 3.6V before deploying the unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Datalogic Memor 10 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — imager powers up but scans fail. What's wrong?
The imager needs a stable voltage above a minimum threshold to fire accurately — if the replacement pack shipped partially discharged, the cell voltage may be too low to sustain the laser or imaging array through the full scan cycle. This causes the imager to power on but fail to capture or decode. Seat the scanner in the cradle and complete a full charge before using it on the floor. Once the pack is at full charge, the scan trigger inrush is handled cleanly and reads return to normal.
The scanner gets noticeably warm after a few hours on shift — is that a battery problem?
Sustained warmth in the Memor 10 or DM88 housing is normal under combined wireless polling and continuous scanning, but excessive heat points to a cell working harder than it should. If the pack has been shallow-cycled repeatedly — pulled off the charger after short bursts rather than full cycles — internal resistance climbs and the cell generates more heat for the same output. Run two or three complete charge-to-discharge cycles to recondition the cell's capacity baseline and monitor whether housing temperature drops back to a normal warm-not-hot level.
After a few weeks, this battery seems to be lasting noticeably less per shift than it did on day one. What causes that so fast?
Rapid capacity fade in handheld scanners is usually driven by shallow cycling — the pack gets topped up in a cradle for 20 minutes between shifts rather than running full charge cycles. Li-ion cells in this voltage class lose usable capacity faster when they never reach a true full-charge termination. Combined with the constant wireless polling the Memor 10 runs even at idle, the effective draw per shift is higher than most users expect. Run the pack down to near-empty, do a complete cradle charge to 100%, and repeat that for two cycles — capacity typically recovers to close to original.
