Fits Datalogic LYNX handheld scanner; replaces OEM part numbers 50-BTEC, 50-BTSC, and 94ACC0065.
3.7V 4000mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 14.8Wh sustained output for full-shift scan and wireless operations.
Connector slides into the vertical battery slot with locking tab seated flush against the scanner housing.
We bench-tested this cell in a LYNX dock cradle; BMS accepted charge handshake on first insertion with no fault codes.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum and a fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Datalogic LYNX — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (50-BTEC)

This 3.7V 4000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original pack in the Datalogic LYNX handheld barcode scanner. It fits the LYNX mobile computer used in warehouse, logistics, and point-of-sale environments. OEM part numbers 50-BTEC, 50-BTSC, and 94ACC0065 all cross to this replacement.

  • LYNX platform compatibility: The LYNX uses a single-cell Li-Polymer architecture at 3.7V nominal. The BMS handshake on this platform authenticates via the connector's third pin — this replacement meets that signal requirement so the device boots without a battery-fault warning.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through scan-trigger bursts combined with active wireless polling. The BMS held stable across both simultaneous draws and did not trip a false low-voltage cutoff during the inrush peaks.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first shift. The scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum charge, and a fully primed cell prevents the BMS from tripping on the very first trigger pull of the day.

Cradle showing a charging error on a brand-new pack

A charging error on a new pack is almost always a contact resistance problem, not a faulty cell. The LYNX cradle reads battery state through the pack's contact pads, and any film — skin oil, warehouse dust, static charge residue — raises resistance enough to trigger a fault code. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle dock with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the pack firmly. If the error clears, the cell is fine and the dock has resumed communication.

Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The LYNX draws current from two sources simultaneously during a rapid scan burst: the imager or laser and the wireless radio. Combined, these can cause a momentary voltage sag on an underpowered or partially charged cell. When the cell voltage dips below the radio module's minimum operating threshold — approximately 3.2V under load — the wireless stack drops before the BMS fully trips. Charge the pack to 100% before a high-volume session, and if sags persist on an older pack, the cell has likely capacity-faded below the point where it can sustain both draws together.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LYNX scanner is not reading barcodes after I swapped the battery — the trigger fires but nothing registers. What's wrong?

The imager or laser needs a minimum supply voltage to fire at full power, and a new pack that shipped at storage charge (around 30–40%) may be too low to sustain it under load. Seat the scanner in the cradle, charge to 100%, then test the scan trigger again. If reads return at full charge, the pack is good — it just needed a full cycle before first use.

The scanner feels noticeably warm after a long shift. Is something wrong with the new battery?

Warmth in the LYNX housing after extended use is normal — the Li-Polymer cell, the wireless radio, and the scan engine all generate heat inside a sealed plastic shell with no active cooling. What to watch for is heat concentrated at the battery compartment rather than spread across the device, which can indicate a cell with internal resistance higher than spec. We measured surface temperature on the bench during sustained scan-and-transmit cycles; the pack stayed within normal operating range. If the housing is hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, check that the cradle contacts are clean and the pack is seating flush — poor contact forces higher charge current and raises temperature.

New battery installed but shift endurance is shorter than I expected — the low-battery warning appears earlier than it did with the original pack. Why?

A new Li-Polymer cell often needs two to three full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches rated capacity. If this is the first shift on a freshly installed pack, run it down to the low-battery warning, charge fully in the cradle overnight, and repeat once more. Scan burst frequency and active wireless polling both draw the cell down faster than light use — if endurance is still short after three full cycles, check the cradle contacts for oxidation and clean them, as poor contact can cut a charge cycle short before the cell actually reaches 4.2V.
