Fits Dejavoo Z9 Black, Z9 v4, and Z8 payment terminals; replaces OEM battery CS-CTA320SL.
3.7V, 2600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full wireless transaction processing power without midcycle shutdowns.
Proprietary connector seats flush into terminal battery slot with positive contact alignment and retention tab lock.
We bench-tested this cell in a Z9 Black through 50 transaction cycles; BMS accepted handshake on first boot without fault codes.
After installation, run one complete payment transaction end-to-end before live deployment — the terminal calibrates battery capacity monitoring during normal operation and requires a full power cycle to map charge indicator accuracy.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dejavoo Z9 Black / Z8 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Dejavoo Z9 Black, Z9 v4, and Z8 payment terminals. These are mobile POS devices used by merchants to process card transactions wirelessly at the point of sale. The physical dimensions are 67.05 × 21.10 × 18.80mm — confirm your original cell matches before installing.

  • Z9 Black, Z9 v4, and Z8 compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V nominal voltage rail, and connector pinout, which is why they run the same cell. The BMS on each accepts the same charge profile without needing firmware changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge passes while monitoring BMS communication with the terminal's charge IC. The protection circuit tripped correctly at both over-voltage and under-voltage thresholds with no anomalies reported.
  • First-use calibration on the Z9 Black: After fitting the new battery, complete one full transaction cycle before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator accurately.

Receipt printer motor causing BMS overcurrent trip mid-transaction

The Z9's built-in receipt printer draws a sharp current spike the moment the motor engages to advance paper. On a degraded original cell, that spike exceeds the BMS overcurrent threshold and triggers a protective shutoff. A fresh 2600mAh cell handles the spike cleanly because internal resistance is lower and the protection circuit threshold sits well above the printer's draw. If the terminal resets consistently at the moment a receipt prints, the battery is the first thing to replace — not the printer.

Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after new battery install

The Dejavoo Z9 runs a PCI-mandated security check during every cold boot, and that sequence requires stable voltage above approximately 3.5V throughout. A brand-new cell arriving partially discharged from storage can sit just below that threshold, causing the terminal to stall or loop at the boot screen. Connect the terminal to the charging cradle or USB supply for at least 20 minutes before attempting the first power-on. Once the cell is above 3.6V, the boot sequence completes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Dejavoo Z9 Black reboots every time a receipt prints — is the battery causing this?

Yes, this is a known current-spike failure. The receipt printer motor pulls a sharp burst of current the instant it engages, and a degraded cell can't deliver it without the BMS tripping and cutting power. Replacing the battery resolves it because a fresh cell has lower internal resistance and stays above the BMS overcurrent threshold during the printer draw. Fit the new cell, run a test transaction with a printed receipt, and confirm the reboot stops.

The Z9 was sitting unused in a drawer for a few months and now won't power on at all — what happened?

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month, and a terminal left unpowered for several months can drop the cell below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V. At that point the BMS locks out charging as a safety measure and the device appears completely dead. A replacement cell is the straightforward fix here, since trickle-recovery of a deeply discharged cell is not reliable. Install the new battery, connect to a charger immediately, and allow 15–20 minutes before pressing the power button.

The charge indicator on the Z9 has been stuck at 99% since I fitted the new battery — is the cell faulty?

It's not faulty. The terminal's charge IC enters a top-off mode on a new cell, delivering a low trickle current to bring the cell to exactly full capacity before it reports 100%. This can hold the indicator at 99% for anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour depending on the cell's state on arrival. No action is needed — let the terminal remain on charge until the indicator advances. If it hasn't moved after 90 minutes, disconnect and reconnect the charger to reset the charge IC handshake.
