Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DeLonghi Colombina EVO / XML510 — 25.9V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AS00000910)
This 25.9V 2500mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part AS00000910 in the DeLonghi Colombina EVO and XML510 cordless stick vacuums. It fits directly into the vacuum's battery bay and runs the brushless motor circuit at the correct voltage rail. Use this when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the vacuum shuts off early in a cleaning session.
- Colombina EVO and XML510 compatibility: Both models share the same 25.9V battery platform, connector layout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single replacement cell covers either unit without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the Colombina EVO motor circuit. The BMS responded correctly to both low-voltage cutoff and overload events — no false trips under normal suction load.
- Dock charging habit on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging degrades Li-ion cells faster than any other single factor on this device class. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
On the Colombina EVO, suction loss before the battery LED signals low is almost always a motor voltage sag issue, not a capacity problem. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than rated to maintain airflow, which triggers a voltage sag across the battery terminals. The BMS reads this as a near-depleted cell and throttles motor output. Clean the filter first — if suction recovers after a filter clear, the battery is not the cause.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. When sustained suction restriction forces the motor to pull beyond the BMS current threshold — typically triggered by a blocked filter or nozzle — the protection circuit disconnects the output to prevent cell damage. The trip resets automatically once current demand drops, which is why the vacuum restarts after a short pause. Check and clear the filter, then inspect the nozzle for a blockage before concluding the battery is faulty. If trips continue on a clean filter, check that the cell terminal voltage reads at or above 22V before charging.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Colombina EVO runs for a short time even with a new battery — what's causing that?
A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw significantly more current than rated, which accelerates voltage sag and triggers early BMS cutoff. The vacuum appears to have a short runtime, but the battery is not the problem — restricted airflow is. Remove, clean, and dry the filter fully before testing runtime again. If runtime improves after a clean filter, the replacement cell is functioning correctly.
The Colombina EVO motor cuts out during cleaning and restarts by itself — is the battery faulty?
That self-resetting cutout is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent event, not a cell failure. Sustained suction against a blocked nozzle or dirty filter pushes motor draw past the BMS threshold, so it disconnects output to protect the cell, then resets once current demand falls. Clear the nozzle and filter before replacing the battery. If the trip still occurs on a clean filter, measure the pack voltage at rest — it should read 25.9V or close to it after a full charge.
My Colombina EVO stopped taking a charge after sitting unused for several months — can the battery recover?
Li-ion cells that sit in a deeply discharged state can fall below the minimum threshold the charger needs to initiate a charge cycle. The charger detects no handshake from the BMS and does nothing. Some cells recover if you connect the charger and leave it for 30–60 minutes — the BMS on this pack includes a recovery mode that accepts a low-current wake charge before full charging begins. If the pack shows any voltage at the terminals (above roughly 18V), a recovery charge is worth attempting. Below that threshold, the cell is unlikely to recover and the battery should be replaced.
