Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Eureka BP14452A / BP14452B — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 14.4V, 5200mAh (74.88Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for Eureka cordless vacuum cleaners using part numbers BP14452A or BP14452B. It slots into compatible handheld and stick vacuum models where the original cell has degraded or failed. Voltage and connector match the OEM spec.
- BP14452A and BP14452B compatibility: Both part numbers share the same 14.4V rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. The B-suffix revision carries identical electrical specs — the change was a minor internal cell arrangement, not a voltage or capacity difference.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a 14.4V Eureka platform and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly with the charger, accepts a full charge without fault codes, and delivers consistent voltage across the discharge curve without premature cutoff.
- Dock charging habit on cordless vacuums: Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging is one of the fastest ways to degrade Li-ion capacity. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects — usually because a partially blocked filter is forcing the motor to work harder. The BMS reads the elevated current draw as a low-voltage condition and begins reducing power to protect the cell. The battery indicator may still show two or three bars when suction noticeably weakens. Clean or replace the filter first; if suction restores immediately, the battery was not the problem.
Motor cuts out mid-run then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — blocked nozzle, full dust cup, or clogged filter — the motor spikes current beyond the BMS threshold and the circuit opens to protect the cell. After a short pause the BMS resets and power returns. Clear the restriction, then resume use. If the trip happens again on a clear path, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated fully — a dirty contact increases resistance and can push current draw past the trip point.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Eureka cordless vacuum loses suction quickly but the battery indicator still shows charged — is the battery failing?
Not necessarily. A clogged filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, and the BMS responds by stepping down power to protect the cell — suction drops even though charge appears normal. Clean or replace the filter and empty the dust cup, then test again. If suction holds through a full run after that, the battery is fine; if it still drops early on a clear filter, the cell may have genuine capacity fade and needs replacement.
The replacement battery charges but the vacuum cuts out after a few seconds of use, then starts again — what's causing this?
This is a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by a restriction in the airflow path. A blocked nozzle or full dust cup spikes motor current above the BMS cutoff threshold; the circuit opens, pauses, then resets. Clear any blockage, empty the dust cup, and check that the filter is seated correctly. If the trip still happens on a completely clear machine, confirm the battery contacts are free of dust — a high-resistance contact can push draw past the trip point even at normal load.
The battery capacity seems to have dropped noticeably after a few months — we haven't used the vacuum that much. What went wrong?
Leaving a cordless vacuum on the charging dock continuously is the most common cause of early capacity fade on Li-ion cells. Permanent dock charging keeps the cell at 100% under a trickle current, which accelerates degradation faster than regular use cycles would. Going forward, charge to full and remove the vacuum from the dock — only return it to charge when the battery is genuinely depleted. At this stage, full charge-discharge cycling a few times can recover some capacity, but cells damaged by prolonged trickle charge do not fully recover.
