Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Doro PhoneEasy 622 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DBF-800A)
This 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Doro PhoneEasy 622 and PhoneEasy 622GSM handsets. It also fits the PhoneEasy 606 and 606GSM series. Slot it in when the original no longer holds a charge through a normal day of calls and messages.
- PhoneEasy 606 and 622 series compatibility: Both the 606 and 622 families share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — which is why one cell covers both lines. OEM references DBF-800A through DBF-800E are interchangeable across this range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a PhoneEasy 622 body. The BMS accepted charge handshake without fault flags, and cutoff triggered correctly at the low-voltage threshold without forcing a hard shutdown.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, let the phone discharge fully to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before resuming normal use. The PhoneEasy 622 fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against a complete discharge curve — skip this and percentage readings will drift from the first day.
Why the PhoneEasy 622 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The PhoneEasy 622 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its charge estimate from the previous cell's discharge curve. When you fit a new cell, the IC still references that old curve. The percentage shown on screen can read 40% when the actual cell voltage is already near 3.5V. One complete discharge-to-shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge forces the IC to map a fresh curve against the new cell. After that cycle, the percentage display tracks accurately.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the PhoneEasy 622
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's curve and the new cell hits its voltage cliff earlier than the IC expects. Under the load of an active call, the cell voltage drops sharply below 3.4V — the BMS triggers a protection cutoff before the OS receives a low-battery warning. It is not a faulty cell. Run one full discharge cycle: let the phone shut itself off naturally, then charge to 100%. The BMS and fuel gauge will align, and the cutoff will stop happening mid-call.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Doro PhoneEasy 622 won't turn on at all after fitting the new battery — is it dead?
Almost certainly a BMS lockout from deep discharge during storage. If the cell voltage dropped below 2.5V before installation, the BMS enters a protection state and refuses to power the device. Connect the charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9V, and the phone will boot normally.
The PhoneEasy 622 feels warm near the battery area while it's charging with the new cell — is that normal?
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a worn cell, so the charge IC pushes harder to move current in during the first few cycles. That produces slightly more heat than you'd have seen with the old battery. It settles after three to five full charge cycles as impedance drops. If the back of the handset becomes too hot to hold comfortably, remove it from the charger, let it cool to room temperature, and resume — that is outside normal range.
The battery percentage on my PhoneEasy 622 jumps around erratically — it skipped from 60% to 15% in minutes.
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve and hasn't completed a full reference cycle yet. The old curve it stored doesn't match this cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship, so the percentage estimate loses accuracy under any real load. Let the phone discharge completely until it shuts itself off, then charge in one uninterrupted session to 100%. One full cycle is enough to give the IC an accurate reference point and stop the erratic readings.
