Fits Kyocera Hydro XTRM, C6721, C6522, and C6522N — replaces OEM part SCP-52LBPS.
Voltage is 3.7V and capacity is 1450mAh — supplies the phone's modem, display, and radio draw.
Connector is the stock Kyocera contact slot with no locking tab — slides straight into the battery door.
We cycled this cell on a C6721 test unit; the BMS accepted charge at standard 500mA input without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kyocera Hydro XTRM / C6721 / C6522 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SCP-52LBPS)

This is a 3.7V, 1450mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Kyocera Hydro XTRM, C6721, C6522, and C6522N smartphones. OEM part numbers SCP-52LBPS and 5AAXBT059GEA confirm fitment across all four variants. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or fails to power the device.

  • Hydro XTRM / C6721 / C6522 compatibility: All four models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The same cell services the full platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the C6721 platform. The BMS accepted the handshake without fault codes, and the charge IC ramped current normally through CC and CV phases.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — preventing erratic percentage readings from the first day.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Hydro XTRM after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. The Hydro XTRM's modem and display draw a combined surge load that causes a worn or freshly installed cell to sag below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.2V — even while the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. The phone shuts down because the battery voltage dropped under load, not because the reported percentage was accurate. One full calibration cycle corrects the fuel gauge IC's reference curve and eliminates most of these early cutoffs.

Phone warm near the battery compartment on the first charge after replacement

A new cell starts with higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled. The charge IC on the Hydro XTRM applies a constant-current phase that generates more heat against that higher impedance during the first one or two charges. This is normal and reduces after the initial cycles lower the cell's impedance. If the phone stays warm beyond the second full charge, check that the battery contacts are seated flat — a misaligned contact increases resistance and sustains the heating.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Kyocera Hydro XTRM shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The Hydro XTRM's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old cell, so the percentage reading is inaccurate when load spikes from the modem or screen pull voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that single cycle the fuel gauge re-maps to the new cell and the early shutoffs stop.

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically — it reads 60%, drops to 40%, then jumps back up within minutes.

This is the coulomb counter on the fuel gauge IC losing its reference point after the cell swap. The IC was tracking charge state against the old cell's known capacity and internal resistance — both values are different on the new cell. Force the IC to re-learn by draining the phone to automatic shutdown from a charge above 80%, then doing a single full uninterrupted charge to 100%. Erratic jumping should stabilise after one to two cycles.

Fast charging stopped working on my Hydro XTRM the moment I swapped the battery — it only charges slowly now.

The Hydro XTRM's charge IC negotiates current limits with the BMS on the first cycle after a new cell is installed. Some replacement cells present a higher impedance profile on cycle one, and the IC drops to a conservative low-current mode as a protective response rather than accepting the full fast-charge current. Charge the phone once at standard rate to 100% and allow it to complete the CV taper phase fully — do not unplug early. On the second charge, fast charging resumes once the IC has confirmed the cell's impedance profile is within range.
