Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kyocera Kona S2150 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SCP-50LBPS)
This 3.7V, 950mAh Li-ion cell replaces OEM part SCP-50LBPS in the Kyocera Kona S2150 and S2151, Coast S2151, and C2150 smartphones. The original cell on these phones degrades faster than average due to the device's compact chassis limiting heat dissipation during charge cycles. Capacity is 950mAh (3.52Wh) — matched to the stock specification.
- Kona S2150 / S2151 / Coast S2151 / C2150 fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — the same cell covers all of them without modification or adapter.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full discharge and charge on the S2150 platform. The BMS handshake completed correctly, charge IC accepted the cell without fault flags, and voltage held stable at load across the full discharge curve.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Kona S2150
This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. The S2150's modem and display draw a combined surge current that the cell cannot sustain once voltage sags below the phone's cutoff threshold — even when the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. A degraded or deeply discharged replacement cell hits this cliff earlier than a freshly cycled one. Run one full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to let the coulomb counter reset its low-voltage endpoint.
Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current to protect the cell from damage. The phone will show no response — no charge indicator, no boot. Connect to a wall charger (not a USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC on most Kyocera devices will trickle-charge a locked-out BMS back above the 3.0V recovery threshold before resuming normal charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Kona S2150 percentage jumps around after I put the new battery in — it went from 60% to 15% in five minutes. Is the replacement cell bad?
The cell is almost certainly fine — the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so its voltage-to-percentage mapping is wrong. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to auto-shutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the coulomb counter resets its endpoints against the new cell and the percentage readout stabilises.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after swapping the battery — the phone just slow-charges now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC often defaults to standard charge rate until the BMS confirms the new cell is within safe parameters. This is normal behaviour — it is not a fault with the replacement cell or the charger. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then unplug and reconnect. The fast charge protocol handshake re-initiates correctly on the second cycle for most Kyocera S2150 units.
The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell. Is something wrong?
A new high-impedance cell has slightly more internal resistance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more heat during the first few cycles. This is normal and reduces after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's internal resistance drops. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — remove it from the charger and let it cool before continuing. After the break-in cycles, charge the phone on a flat hard surface rather than a bed or couch to keep the back of the device ventilated.
