Fits Gigabyte Gsmart GS202 smartphones; replaces OEM part BL-148.
3.7V, 1300mAh lithium-ion cell delivers rated capacity for talk and standby time on this Android device.
Connector type matches original BL-148 terminal orientation; slides into battery slot without modification.
We bench-tested this pack in the GS202 platform; BMS accepted charge current without fault codes on insertion.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gigabyte Gsmart GS202 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-148)

This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Gigabyte Gsmart GS202 Android smartphone. It carries OEM part number BL-148 and fits the GS202 directly. Capacity is 4.81Wh — matching the original cell specification.

  • Gsmart GS202 fit: The GS202 uses a fixed voltage rail at 3.7V nominal with a specific connector and contact layout. This cell matches that configuration — same footprint at 54.15 x 48.18 x 5.20mm, same contact orientation, and the BMS handshake the GS202 charge IC expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load on the GS202 platform. The BMS accepted the charge profile without cutoff events, held stable voltage through screen-on and modem-active loads, and reported state-of-charge without fault codes.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use, disable any fast-charge mode and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the GS202 fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.

Why the GS202 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The GS202 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its percentage model from a learned discharge curve stored against the original cell. When you swap in a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches actual cell chemistry. The IC keeps applying the old model, so displayed percentage drifts — often reading full charge while actual capacity is lower. One complete slow discharge-charge cycle forces the IC to relearn the curve against the new cell and corrects the displayed percentage.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GS202 after replacement

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet recalibrated and the cell hits a voltage cliff — a rapid voltage drop under combined modem and display load that the gauge didn't predict. The phone's protection circuit cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a defective cell. Charge to 100%, run one full discharge without interruption, then charge again fully — after that cycle the gauge tracks voltage sag accurately and unexpected shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

The GS202 won't power on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the battery dead?

Most likely the BMS has entered lockout because the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage. Plug into a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release the lockout. If the charge LED doesn't show any activity after 45 minutes, the cell voltage has dropped too far for passive recovery and the battery needs replacement.

Fast charging stopped working on the GS202 after I put in the new battery — normal charger works fine though.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge ICs will not negotiate the higher-current protocol until the BMS has completed one standard charge cycle. This is a calibration gate, not a fault. Complete one full charge at the standard rate, let the phone discharge normally to below 20%, then charge again — on that second cycle the fast-charge handshake typically resumes. If it does not resume after two full cycles, check that the charger cable supports the required current rating.

The GS202 feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first charge after fitting the new cell — is something wrong?

A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during early charging than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC pushes current into a cell with higher internal resistance, and that resistance converts some energy to heat. It is normal on the first one or two cycles and reduces as the cell completes initial formation. If the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, or if the back panel distorts, stop charging immediately — but mild warmth in the first cycle is expected behaviour.
