Fits Dreame A1, A1 Pro, A2, A2 Pro lawn mower models; replaces OEM part number MBPA14.
20V, 5000mAh capacity delivers sustained power through residential yard mowing without mid-job voltage sag.
Slides onto the Dreame motor housing with a forward-lock tab; connector orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested the pack against the stock A1 charger — BMS accepted on first insertion, no fault codes, stable voltage curve under blade motor load.
If the mower cuts out mid-row then restarts after a pause, stop and let the pack cool for 5 minutes; thermal protection is normal under thick grass and does not indicate a faulty cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dreame A1 / A2 Series — 20V Li-ion Replacement Battery (MBPA14)

This is a 20V Li-ion replacement battery for the Dreame A1, A1 Pro, A2, and A2 Pro cordless lawn mowers. It carries the OEM part number MBPA14 and delivers 5000mAh (100Wh) of capacity. It slots into the same battery bay and uses the same BMS communication protocol as the original pack.

  • A1 and A2 platform compatibility: The A1, A1 Pro, A2, and A2 Pro share the same 20V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake — one pack covers all four models without any adapter or firmware workaround.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through repeated blade-start cycles on the A1 platform. The BMS held stable across normal inrush loads and engaged protection correctly under simulated overload — no false trips on clean grass conditions.
  • Seasonal storage tip: If the mower has sat through winter, bring the battery indoors overnight before the first spring cut. Below 10°C, Li-ion cells show higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current on a cold pack can trip the BMS before the mower completes a single row.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass and wet-grass blade load

The Dreame A1's blade motor draws significantly more current through dense or wet grass than on a dry, short lawn. When that inrush spike exceeds the BMS overcurrent threshold, the pack cuts out instantly as a protection response — not a battery fault. Letting the mower run at walking pace through heavy growth keeps current draw within the BMS window. If the pack cuts out mid-row, remove it, wait 60 seconds for the BMS to reset, then reinsert and resume at a slower pace.

Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat in the garage all winter

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly over months of storage. If the pack voltage drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, most chargers refuse to begin a charge cycle and flag a fault LED instead. This is a charger-side safety gate, not a dead battery. Some chargers have a recovery or trickle mode — check the charger manual for a "recovery" button or hold the charge button for five seconds to initiate a low-current pre-charge. Once cell voltage climbs back above the acceptance threshold (typically 3.0V per cell), the charger switches to normal CC/CV charging automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Dreame A1 cuts out halfway through a row and then starts again after a minute — what's causing that?

That's thermal protection triggering, not a battery fault. The blade motor builds heat through sustained load, and when the pack's internal temperature hits the BMS cutoff threshold, it shuts down to protect the cells. A five-minute rest with the battery removed lets the pack cool and the BMS reset. If it keeps happening, check that the blade isn't dragging on wet or overly long grass — those conditions push current draw up and accelerate heat buildup.

The new battery runs noticeably warmer than my old one during the first few cuts — should I be concerned?

No — this is normal cell conditioning behaviour on a fresh pack. New Li-ion cells have slightly higher internal resistance before their electrodes fully form, which generates more heat over the first three to five charge-discharge cycles. After that break-in period, operating temperature drops to the level you'd expect. If the pack is still running unusually hot after five full cycles, check that the battery bay vents on the mower aren't blocked with grass clippings.

The Dreame A1 seems to lose power noticeably faster on the first cold morning of the year compared to a warm day — is the battery failing?

It's not failing — Li-ion capacity drops when cell temperature falls below 10°C. Cold cells have higher internal resistance, which reduces the usable energy the BMS will draw before it hits its low-voltage cutoff. Bring the battery inside for a few hours before mowing on cold mornings to restore full capacity. Once the cells are at room temperature, output returns to normal and no charging action is needed.
