Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Elson EL370 / Mobistel kat / Mobilfunk — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 550mAh (2.04Wh) Li-ion cell for the Elson EL370, Mobistel kat, and Mobilfunk smartphones. It fits the same battery bay and connector as the original cell. Use this when the factory battery no longer holds a charge or fails to power the phone.
- EL370, Mobistel kat, and Mobilfunk compatibility: These three models share the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pin-out, and BMS communication protocol — one cell covers all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the EL370 platform. The BMS accepted the cell, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and protection circuits responded normally to load and cutoff conditions.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging if supported and run one complete discharge-charge cycle before normal use. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve — without it, the percentage counter may read against the old cell's profile and report inaccurate state of charge.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the EL370 after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. The fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the old degraded cell, so it trusts a state-of-charge reading that no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage curve. Under modem load or screen-on draw, the cell voltage drops sharply below the 3.4V cutoff threshold before the gauge registers critical. The phone shuts off to protect the cell — not because the replacement battery is faulty. One full discharge to automatic shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and fixes this.
Phone feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell typically has higher internal impedance than a well-cycled one. The charge IC pushes current into that higher impedance, and some of the energy converts to heat rather than stored charge. This is normal for the first two or three cycles and reduces as the cell breaks in. If the phone stays warm beyond cycle three, or the back panel gets hot to touch, check that no third-party fast-charge adapter is overriding the charge current limit — use the original charger and keep input at 5V/1A for the first full cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The EL370 powers off by itself when the battery still shows 25% — is the replacement cell faulty?
The cell is most likely fine. The fuel gauge IC on the EL370 was calibrated to the old degraded cell's discharge curve, so its percentage reading is out of sync with the new cell's actual voltage. Under call or screen load, the voltage drops below the 3.4V protection cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero, triggering a hard shutdown. Run one full discharge to automatic poweroff and a full uninterrupted charge to 100% — this resets the coulomb counter and the shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on the EL370 jumps around erratically after fitting the replacement — it went from 60% to 40% in seconds without heavy use.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a new cell it has never seen before. The IC's internal model was built around the old cell's impedance and capacity values — those no longer match, so state-of-charge estimates swing widely until the counter resyncs. Let the phone discharge fully to automatic shutdown, then charge it to 100% without interruption. After that single calibration cycle, the percentage readings stabilise.
The EL370 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for several months before installation.
If the cell dropped below 2.5V during storage, the BMS will have engaged its deep-discharge lockout to prevent an unsafe charge attempt. Plug the phone into its original charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC applies a low-current pre-charge trickle to bring the cell back above the 3.0V recovery threshold before full charging begins. Once the screen shows a charge indicator, the BMS lockout has cleared and the phone will boot normally.
