Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG 4NE1 / DB-230 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LGLI-ABEM)
This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the LG 4NE1 and DB-230 smartphones. It replaces OEM part number LGLI-ABEM. Fit this cell when the original no longer holds charge, causes unexpected shutdowns, or the phone refuses to power on.
- 4NE1 and DB-230 platform: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both. The voltage rail sits at 3.7V nominal, matching the charge IC on either board.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge cycle and confirmed the BMS communicated correctly with the charge IC. Cutoff voltage held at the expected threshold — no false full-charge signals.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for your first complete discharge-charge cycle after fitting this cell. The fuel gauge IC on the 4NE1 calibrates its internal model against the cell's discharge curve on that first run — letting it complete that cycle at standard current gives the coulomb counter accurate data before any high-current session.
Why the 4NE1 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual electrochemical behaviour of the replacement. The result is percentage readings that jump, stall, or read 100% long before the cell is actually full. One full discharge down to auto-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and brings readings back in line.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell
This happens because the modem radio and screen backlight draw a current spike the cell can't sustain when its actual voltage drops below roughly 3.5V — even though the OS gauge still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve accurately, so it misreports usable capacity. The phone interprets the sudden voltage sag as a hard cutoff and shuts down. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles and the gauge recalibrates — shutdowns at false-high percentages should stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My LG 4NE1 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
The BMS locks out when cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V during storage, which prevents charging through normal means. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC on the 4NE1 trickle-charges a locked-out cell at low current to bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the screen shows no sign of life after 45 minutes on a wall charger, check that the charger is delivering at least 5V 1A.
Fast charging stopped working after I fitted this battery — the phone charges but only at the slow rate now.
The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake between the charge IC and the battery BMS doesn't always complete correctly on the very first charge cycle with a new cell. The charge IC defaults to standard current as a precaution. Run one full charge at the slow rate until the phone reads 100%, then disconnect and let it discharge normally to auto-shutoff. On the second charge cycle, reconnect using the original fast-charge adapter — the BMS handshake typically completes correctly once the cell has been through one full cycle.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled several times. Higher impedance means more energy is dissipated as heat during the initial charge cycles. This is normal for the first three to five cycles and the warmth should reduce as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone becomes too hot to hold or the charge IC triggers a thermal pause — shown by charging stopping and restarting on its own — switch to a lower-wattage charger for the break-in period and check that nothing is blocking airflow around the phone during charging.
