Fits Emporia Elson SL900 and SL900A smartphones, replacing OEM part BTY26153ELSON/STD.
3.7V lithium-ion cell at 550mAh capacity delivers 2.04Wh to power talk time and standby operation.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with no locking tab; orientation keyed to prevent reversal.
We ran full discharge cycles on the bench; the BMS accepted charge without early cutoff or thermal drift.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Emporia Elson SL900 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTY26153ELSON/STD)

This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 550mAh (2.04Wh), built to the same form factor as the original BTY26153ELSON/STD. It fits the Elson SL900 and Elson SL900A. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge or fails to power on.

  • SL900 and SL900A compatibility: Both models use the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with the same connector pinout and BMS handshake. The cell dimensions are 41.65 × 38.73 × 5.28mm — measure your original before installing if you are unsure which variant you have.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SL900 platform and confirmed the BMS accepts the cell, reports voltage correctly, and does not trigger a protection cutoff under normal screen and modem load.
  • First-cycle calibration tip: After installing, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle before normal use. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Why the SL900 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the SL900 stores a charge curve learned from the original cell. When you fit a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the actual discharge profile. The phone reads the voltage and maps it to the old curve, so the percentage shown can be off by 10–20%. One full discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge to 100%, forces the coulomb counter to reset its baseline against the new cell. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the modem or display pulls a brief high-current spike that the cell cannot sustain at that state of charge. The cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V — and the phone shuts off even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. It is more common on the first few cycles before the fuel gauge IC has recalibrated. Run two full discharge-charge cycles; if shutdowns persist beyond that, check that the battery connector is fully seated and making clean contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Elson SL900 won't turn on after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Likely not dead, but the BMS has locked out the cell to prevent damage from deep discharge. When cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V, the protection circuit opens and blocks normal charging. Plug the phone into a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage recovers to around 3.0V, the BMS resets and normal charging resumes.

The battery percentage on my SL900 jumps around erratically — it read 45%, then jumped to 12% without any heavy use. What's going on?

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and has not yet built an accurate model. This is normal for the first two or three cycles after a cell swap. Let the phone discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — do this twice. The coulomb counter anchors its full and empty endpoints during those cycles, and the erratic jumps stop once both endpoints are locked in.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement cell — the phone just slow-charges now. Will it ever fast charge again?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard charging because it cannot yet confirm the new cell's impedance is within the expected range for higher current delivery. This is a one-cycle safety hold, not a permanent fault. Charge the phone fully on standard charge once, then disconnect and reconnect — most SL900 units re-enable the faster charge rate on the second cycle once the IC has logged one complete charge profile from the new cell.
