Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BenQ-Siemens AL21 / AL26 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EBA-110)
This is a 3.7V 700mAh Li-ion cell matching OEM part number EBA-110, built to fit the BenQ-Siemens AL21 and AL26 compact mobile phones. Both models share the same battery bay dimensions and connector, so one cell covers both. Capacity is rated at 700mAh / 2.59Wh, matching the original specification.
- AL21 and AL26 shared platform: Both phones run off the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with an identical 44 × 36 × 6mm battery envelope and shared connector pinout. The BMS on each handset uses the same voltage thresholds, so one replacement cell works across both without any firmware conflict.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a BMS-monitored rig. The protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff and accepted a full CC/CV charge cycle without thermal anomaly or premature cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using the phone normally. The AL21's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the worn original cell — skipping this step causes the percentage counter to read against the wrong discharge curve from day one.
Why the AL21 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The AL21 uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that builds its state-of-charge model from previous discharge cycles. When you replace the cell, the IC still holds the old cell's discharge profile in memory. It maps current draw against that stale curve, so the percentage shown on screen drifts away from actual charge state almost immediately. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete uninterrupted charge forces the IC to rewrite its reference curve against the new cell's actual capacity.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet recalibrated and the phone hits a voltage cliff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The screen backlight and radio combined pull enough current to drop cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold while the counter still shows charge remaining. It is not a faulty cell — it is a calibration gap. Run the recalibration cycle described above, and the shutdowns stop once the IC has a full discharge curve for this cell. After calibration, the cutoff should align at or below 3.4V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The AL21 powers on for a second then shuts off immediately after fitting the new battery — what's happening?
The cell likely discharged below the BMS lockout threshold during storage, typically under 2.5V per cell. At that voltage, the protection circuit blocks current flow to the phone entirely. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it climbs above the recovery threshold and the BMS re-enables normal operation. Once the phone shows a charging indicator, the lockout has cleared.
Battery percentage jumps erratically — shows 60%, drops to 10%, then jumps back up while sitting idle — is the cell faulty?
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell it has no discharge history for, not a defective battery. The coulomb counter is interpolating charge state from an old reference curve that no longer matches this cell's actual voltage-to-capacity relationship. Complete one full uninterrupted discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without removing the cable early. After that single cycle the IC rewrites its reference curve and the percentage stabilises.
Phone feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is that normal with a new cell?
A new Li-ion cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which means the charge IC dissipates a little more heat during the constant-current phase of the first few charge cycles. This is normal and reduces after three to five full cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone is hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check that no foreign material is bridging the battery contacts. Normal warm-to-touch heat during CC charging on a fresh cell is not a fault.
