This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects — usually triggered by a partially blocked filter, not a failing battery. The vacuum loses suction while the indicator still shows charge because the indicator reads state-of-charge, not voltage under load. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest suction at full charge.

Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the motor draws a sustained spike — most often from a blocked filter or tangled brush roll — the BMS cuts power to protect the cell, then resets once current drops. The pause you experience is the BMS reset timer, typically a few seconds. Clear any blockage from the brush roll and filter, then restart the vacuum; if the cutout repeats on a clean machine, measure resting cell voltage — it should sit above 14.0V after a full charge.
