Fits Shark V1720, V1725, and V1725H cordless handheld vacuums replacing OEM part X9725H.
4.8V 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers consistent motor voltage throughout cleaning cycles without sag.
Cylindrical cell slides into the battery compartment with snap-down locking tab; polarity marked on housing.
We bench-tested the pack under sustained motor load — BMS passed voltage regulation within tolerance, no cutoff events.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge; trickle charging degrades Ni-MH capacity faster than standard charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Euro Pro Shark V1720 / V1725 Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (X9725H)

This is a 4.8V 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Euro Pro Shark V1720, V1725, and V1725H cordless handheld vacuums. It matches the original X9725H specification exactly — same voltage, same form factor, same connector orientation. When the original cell loses capacity and suction weakens before the indicator shows low, this is the direct swap.

  • V1720, V1725, and V1725H compatibility: All three models share the same 4.8V battery bay, connector, and cell count. The BMS in each unit expects the same voltage profile, so one cell fits all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the V1720 motor under load and monitored BMS response. Voltage held steady across the discharge curve with no unexpected cutoff on normal suction draws.
  • Dock charging habit on the V1720: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. The V1720 charger does not cut off automatically — continuous trickle charge accelerates capacity fade in Ni-MH cells faster than in any other chemistry. Charge to full, then remove it from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens because the motor voltage sag starts well before the cell is fully discharged. On Ni-MH cells with degraded capacity, the voltage curve collapses earlier than the indicator threshold expects. The result is noticeably weaker suction while the indicator still shows charge remaining. A fresh X9725H cell restores the flat mid-discharge voltage profile the motor needs to hold consistent airflow.

Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty switch. It happens when a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than the BMS allows. The cell hits the current ceiling, the BMS cuts power, and the vacuum restarts once it cools. Clean or replace the filter first — if cutouts continue with a clear filter on a new cell, check the suction path for debris restricting airflow past the motor.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Shark V1725 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery light still shows green — is this the battery or the filter?

Most likely the battery. An aged Ni-MH cell's voltage curve collapses early, starving the motor of current before the charge indicator threshold trips. Check the filter first — if airflow is clear and the problem persists, the cell is the cause. A fresh X9725H cell restores the flat discharge voltage the V1725 motor needs to hold consistent suction through a full cleaning session.

The V1720 motor cuts out for a few seconds then kicks back in while I'm vacuuming — what's causing that?

That's the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, not a wiring fault. When the filter is even partially blocked, the motor compensates by drawing more current than the BMS limit allows, so it cuts the circuit briefly to protect the cell. Remove and tap out the filter, clear any debris from the intake, then test again. If the cutouts stop, the filter restriction was the trigger — if they continue on a clear airway, replace the X9725H cell.

I left my Shark V1725H on the charging dock for weeks and now it barely holds charge — did the charger damage the battery?

Yes. The V1725H charger does not stop automatically when the cell is full, so continuous dock sitting trickle-charges the Ni-MH cell indefinitely. This accelerates capacity fade faster than normal cycling does. The original cell is likely damaged beyond recovery. Install the replacement X9725H, charge it fully, then remove it from the dock — only return it to charge when the vacuum's suction noticeably weakens.
